The Colorado Hoopsters have been around for quite a while, boasting some incredible collegiate level talent throughout their various divisions. Sponsored by Nike, this group will be bearing plenty of responsiblity setting the tone as a Colorado program out of state.
Sophia Sabus Sophia Sabus 5'11" | CG Ralston Valley | 2024 State CO – Ralston Valley – 2024
Sabus is a knockdown shooter off the catch or dribble, possessing notable gravity from distance. The 5’11 guard will play a valuable role for this group’s spacing and live dribble scoring upside. Being able to come off of screens into the pull-up jumper is as valuable as ever, Sabus is already one of the best at this trait for the 2024 class. Through her junior season at Ralston Valley, the guard put up 15.4 points and 1.8 steals per game, while hitting 39% of triples. Among juniors, Sabus is currently ranked 5th among all combo guards in the state.
Shyann Farbes Shyann Farbes 5'8" | CG Eaglecrest | 2024 State CO – Eaglecrest – 2024
Farbes is an exciting watch, given her creative decisions off the dribble. The junior guard is a knockdown shooter from a variety of situations, capable hitting shots under tight pressure. At the recent PGH Prospect Camp, she had a few advanced reads to cutters, hitting them with passes through tight windows. On the defensive end, Farbes competes with both backcourt positions, doing well to keep her hands up and in play for steals. Through her junior season with Eaglecrest, the guard has posted 7.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per game. Not to mention that Farbes stands 4th among combo guards within the 2024 rankings.
Madison Moyers Madison Moyers 5'10" | SG Roosevelt | 2024 State CO – Roosevelt – 2024
Moyers will be worth keeping an eye on throughout the summer, given her versatility at 5’10. The guard is an especially efficient scorer and playmaker, doing well to impact the game within a few dribbles. Already a knockdown shooter, Moyers will be able to build on her resume through a greater volume of scoring looks coming off the pull-up jumpers. From the most recent PGH Prospect Camp, Moyers came away as one of the standouts. She possesses especially high upside as playmaker, given her immediate advantages seeing above the defense. Within Roosevelt’s deep roster, Moyers posted 3 assists, including a wide variety of passes from drives. The guard stands as the state’s 3rd overall shooting guard for the 2024 class.
Natalie Thornton – Horizon – 2024
Thornton has proven excellent at the point of attack, matching up with both opposing backcourt positions. She brings quick instincts on or off the ball, staying poised to spark a fast break from steals. At 5’6, Thornton seeks driving lanes should the space become available, comfortable scoring with either hand. The guard has already garnered an offer from Regis, alongside a strong showing at last weekend’s PGH Prospect Camp. Thornton read the floor at an above average rate throughout that event, attacking driving lanes to score or pass from the paint. The junior currently sits 3rd among 2024 combo guards.
