You can see my D1, D2 and D3 predictions and players to watch below.
BARAGA VS. MACKINAW CITY
Prediction: Baraga
Players to watch:
Jahfetson is a key veteran presence. She’s been around for a lot of varsity games and leadership like is huge in games like this. Jahfetson is a crafty shooter and scorer and will be turned to for big buckets.
Baraga has a trio of talented guards so Smith can be the trump card for Mackinaw City. She’ll be a tough matchup due to her ability to control the lane and pick up a lot of high percentage looks near the rim.
FOWLER VS. KINGSTON
Prediction: Fowler
Players to watch:
Fowler is becoming accustomed to deep playoff runs. Against a very good defensive team like Kingston, it’s very nice to have an elite backcourt talent. If Riley can break down the D of the bounce and create for herself and her teammates than Fowler moves on.
Delaney St. George
Delaney St. George
St. George has proven for years now that she’s willing, ready and able to be focus on the offensive end of the floor. If she hits a few timely buckets, with her team’s defense, it might be enough to grab a victory.
MAPLE CITY GLEN LAKE VS. ST. CHARLES
Prediction: Maple City Glen Lake
Players to watch:
Bradford is a talented post player with good touch and soft feet. She was a huge reason as to why Glen Lake beat some really good teams this season, including 2 of the teams in the quarterfinals.
Stimac is a seasoned scorer that seems to thrive under pressure. She’s a multilevel scorer that has a knack for finding a scoring opportunity. If Stimac can lead her team to the Breslin Center if she gets it done on D as well.
KALAMAZOO HACKETT VS. ADRIAN LENAWEE CHRISTIAN
Prediction: Adrian Lenawee Christian
Players to watch:
This name is starting to become very familiar as her team keeps advancing. Hackett prides themselves on their defense and defensive intensity, but that being said, you always need a bucket getter. Enter Ridderman.
Sluss is a really tough matchup. She has a combination of strength and slickness that’s tough to top. Sluss can get to the rim quickly and shrug off contact while doing so. If she can overcome Hackett’s suffocating D, Lenawee Christian will get the win.
