The fall and winter months have given way to the spring and summer months – meaning AAU teams will be in the spotlight until the 2023-24 academic calendar commences.
We at Prep Girls Hoops are just getting started with our coverage of the travel scene over the next several months. Among the many teams that will be representing the Palmetto State on the club circuit is SC Lady Sixers 17U whose home base is the Upstate. #RecruitThePalmettoState
Quinasia Abercrombie Quinasia Abercrombie 5'9" | SF Wade Hampton | 2024 State SC – She had a banner season in leading the Generals to the 4A Upper State final. As one of the top 2024s in the state, this year’s AAU campaign will surely do wonders for her recruitment.
Camryn Claxton – Claxton is the lone representative from the Lions on this year’s SC Lady Sixers 17U roster. In addition, she is one of three 2025s that will take to the court in a SC Lady Sixers 17U uniform.
Caroline Sweet Caroline Sweet 5'7" | SG Powdersville | 2026 State SC – Sweet is a two-sport athlete who plays both volleyball as well as basketball. She is also the lone SC Lady Sixers representative from the Patriots.
Maggie Chambers – Here is a name many a Palmetto State girls hoops fan should take notice of as her Pickens Blue Flame is meteorically rising up the 4A ranks. Her stellar 2022-23 included averaging 12 points, 8.9 rebounds and 3.3 steals per game.
Kathleen Nichols – the majority of SC Lady Sixers 17U is comprised of Wade Hampton players. In addition to basketball, Nichols has taken part in cross country events throughout her career.
Ava Catherine Elder – Elder has participated in the varsity ranks ever since her eighth grade season – the COVID season of 2020-21. Before arriving at Wade Hampton, she previously played at St. Joseph’s Catholic when it was a 2A school (now 1A).
Lucy Brewer Lucy Brewer 5'11" | PF Wade Hampton | 2025 State SC – Brewer is another of the three 2025s listed on this year’s SC Lady Sixers 17U roster. Her athletic career also includes lacrosse experience.
Scarlett Watson – She is the lone representative from another 4A school in Greenville that is part of this year’s roster. Watson is also one of five from the 2026 ranks that will take the court this club campaign for SC Lady Sixers.
Ellie McCart – The number of sports she participates in paint a picture of a very busy athletic schedule. McCart’s sports outside of basketball include track and field and lacrosse.
Bella Spadavecchia – The last four representatives listed here have two things in common. Including Spadavecchia, all attend Wade Hampton. In addition, all are 2026s.
Kenlie Hennon – Hennon adds junior varsity experience to SC Lady Sixers 17U. She is one of the nine on the roster representing the Generals.
Katie Williams – Out of the six 2026s that are on the SC Lady Sixers 17U roster, four are from Wade Hampton. Williams is one of those four.
Lucy Chastain – Chastain rounds out what is a 13-person roster for SC Lady Sixers 17U. She is also one of 10 who is playing up in class.
