Addison Hunter Addison Hunter 6'0" | PF Champlain Valley | 2023 State NewE , 6’0 F – Champlain Valley Union High School Class of 2023
Hunter feels like the full package. She can score at all 3 levels, yet she has the arsenal to do all her damage within 15-feet. Hook shots, spin moves, counters, face-ups, you name it she can do it. Moreover, she’s a heady passer who can facilitate out of the post. Add in her defensive instincts, rebounding, and an ability to spark the fast break with pinpoint outlet passes, and we’ve got a show on our hands. The D1 champ gets one last run on her home floor.
Karsyn Bellomo, 5’7 PG – Rutland High School Class of 2023
A true floor general who can play in a variety of systems with a range of players, Karsyn is built to perform at a high-level in such events. She creates plays in the open court, can score in a variety of ways, and control the tempo of the game. With her at the helm, you know it’s going to be a well-controlled affair. Plus, she’s a rugged defender who knows how to disrupt offenses. This’ll be fun.
Sakoya Sweeney Sakoya Sweeney 5'6" | CG Lake Region | 2023 State NewE , 5’8 PG – Lake Region High School Class of 2023
Sweeney is the ultimate leader. She’s a fantastic communicator, a smart two-way player, and a huge fan of her teammates; who wouldn’t want Sakoya at the PG slot in an All-Star setting? First, Sakoya is a facilitator, and her ability to snake into the second layer and create offense is impressive. Yet she can fill it up if the defense doesn’t respect her scoring. Plus, her work defensively rivals her work offensively. Sweeney is a top-tier teammate and competitor.
Shelby Companion Shelby Companion 5'6" | CG CVU | 2023 State NewE , 5’7 G – Champlain Valley Union High School Class of 2023
I’ve enjoyed Shelby’s evolution over this winter. She’s a highly skilled combo-guard, capable of orchestrating or playing off the ball. Her 3-ball has been falling consistently all year, her slashing is controlled and patient, and her vision constantly puts teammates in scoring position. Plus, she defends 1-3, rebounds from the perimeter, and is quick to get out on the break. The D1 state champ is a gamer.
Allison Fullem, 6’1 F – Mount Mansfield Union High School Class of 2023
Fullem can pull ’em! Alli is that modern forward with range from three, a true pick-and-pop player. Moreover, she’s got the offensive repertoire to take smaller defenders into the post, play a little bully ball, and finish with touch at the rim. Defensively she covers 3-5, rebounds at a high clip, and has coast-to-coast playmaking ability. I’m hoping to see Alli put all her game on display.
Cherise Shamp, 5’11 G/W – Mount Mansfield Union High School Class of 2023
I’m interested to see how Cherise comes out. Unfortunately, the senior point-forward went down with an injury to end the year and I’m not sure where she’s at in her recovery. Regardless, if she’s on the floor, I know she’s going to put in the work. She’s a ball hawk, a rebounding virtuoso, a finisher, and a floor general who leads by example. Shamp plays hard, smart, and for her teammates. Love her game.
Cora Nadeau Cora Nadeau 5'9" | SG North Country | 2023 State NewE , 5’10 G/W – North Country Union High School Class of 2023
We got another champ in the house! Cora and co. at NCU showed out all year, going 24-0 her senior season, and Nadeau was critical in their run. First, she’s a natural 3. Cora is a 3-level scorer who can create her own shots or play effectively off the ball. In addition, she defends 2-4, and she’s shown flashes of her playmaking ability in both the open court and halfcourt settings. Cora has all the tools to show out in this one.
Yvonne Roberge Yvonne Roberge 5'6" Spaulding | 2023 NewE , 5’8 PG – Spaulding High School Class of 2023
Roberge has a surgical approach at the PG. She has nice vision in the halfcourt, picking opponents apart with savvy passing and creation. Plus, she can knock down open threes or snake into the second layer to makes plays, all with poise and precision. Yet she’s also a hardnosed defender. She plays with her feet, communicates, and pushes in transition. I’m excited to see Yvonne compete in this setting.
Neveah Camp, 5’8 G – Burr and Burton Academy Class of 2023
Neveah has all kinds of game. Camp is a combo-guard with great feel at both the 1 and 2 slots. She’s a natural facilitator with her handle and vision, plus she can knock down open jumpers and slash. And defensively she’s all there. Neveah plays hard, reads opponents well, and can dictate where they go. Camp brings some grit into the mix.
Sage Maccauley, 5’10 W/F – Spaulding High School Class of 2023
Oh yes, I’m interested to see what Sage does in this one. Maccauley has the versatility to play inside with her post game that’s flush with moves and counters. Or she can draw defenders to the perimeter and play point-forward. Then defensively, she maintains that same dynamism. Sage can battle in the paint, defend the wing, rebound at a high rate, and push the ball in transition. This should be fun.
