This senior class came out like game busters, ready to prove their weight in gold. The ladies who graduate this year gave their school an appropriate send off every time they donned their uniform.
Within the ‘23 class, we had some phenomenal young ladies across this state. Hoopers who knew how to not only put it in the basket, but find ways to help affect the outcome of games. These young ladies laid their heart on the lines, but also were primed and ready when their coach called their number.
From the ‘23 class rankings, PGH Tennessee would like to highlight some ladies who are worthy of some attention. Their stock definitely rose throughout the season. Based on their play and just flat out getting after it, let us tell you about the ‘23 class stock risers.
Emily Monson Emily Monson 6'0" | SF Blackman | 2023 State TN (Blackman)– The Purdue commit had a stellar senior season. She was the X factor every time she stepped onto the court. She brought leadership, played with a lot of heart and tenacity, and rose to the challenge each and every game night. A multi level scoring threat, she did more than just put the ball in the hole. Rebounding, steals, winning the 50/50 war, this girl was a star as she helped lead her club deep into the tournament.
Ti’Mia Lawson (Jackson South Side)– This long lanky wing did her part to help her school capture their first state championship this past season. Her presence was felt nightly as she sliced through defenses to the cup. Knocking down J’s from all over the place, her ability to put the ball in the hole was impressive. Mind you, she wasn’t just balling out on the offensive end, her defensive prowess was on high as she locked down opponents and did her thing creating turnovers and getting rebounds.
Nevaeh Scott Nevaeh Scott 5'7" | SG Bartlett | 2023 State TN (Bartlett)– The little engine that could, she brought the energy nightly as she whooped up on opponents. Had a little Iverson flare to her game, she didn’t hesitate letting 3 balls go from deep. She commanded the Lady Panthers attack, feeding players the rock while she did her thing by getting buckets herself. Great talent that definitely turned some heads during the state tournament.
Lauren Smith Lauren Smith 5'10" | PF Blackman | 2023 State TN (Blackman)– This long winged post player made her presence felt all the time. She was a big component to the Lady Blaze run down the stretch. She did the little things right and played a massive role in their state contention run. Offensively, she was a bucket around the cup, getting put backs and sealing on the block to finish. Defensively, she was on the boards, leading transitional breaks. The UT Southern commit anchored the middle as her team had an impressive 2022-2023 season.
LaTasia Williamson LaTasia Williamson 6'2" | C Hillsboro | 2023 State TN (Hillsboro)– The big post player has committed to play at Gardner-Webb this upcoming year. She anchored the middle and was big time for her Lady Borro ball club. A nice back to the basket player, she had a bevy of moves that enabled her to finish at the rim. She was a defensive juggernaut as she swatted balls and owned the boards. She was the energy giver and was a huge catalyst to the Lady Burros success.
Juleigh Anne Tucker Juleigh Anne Tucker 5'8" | SG The King's Academy | 2023 State TN (TKA)– This ballin diva was the 3pt queen. She could let that thing fly from deep and did it with such confidence. When her number was called, this hooper sank it the majority of the time. JA will be committed to Asbury, where she will take her talents East of the Smokies.

(Bradley Central)– A true point guard, one of the finest in the state. She helped lead her Lady Bearettes ball club to a state title. She’s one of the most trustworthy ball players around. Throughout the course of the season, she had less than 30 turnovers. Sloan can run an offensive. She can facilitate that ball, get her squad in position, and execute. She plays sound defensively, and can create turnovers leading to transition buckets. Great talent that will be going to Johnson University next fall.

(PCA)– The Lee commit was stellar for her PCA Lady Lions this past year. A multi-level scoring threat who was a straight hustler. She did the little things to help propel her club over the top. Besides dropping buckets from all over, she facilitated the offense, locked down opponents on D, was in the mix for 50/50 balls, and displayed leadership by leading by example and always communicating. This kid took huge strides and played with such confidence this past season. Lee U got a steal in this kid for sure.
