Continue ReadingThe sophomore guard elevated her game this past year. Her ability to score on multiple levels separates her from others. Aviles’ IQ allows her to facilitate the offense effortlessly. She finished the year averaging 24 ppg, 10 apg and 6 rpg. She lead the PSAL in assists per game and total assists this past season. She also led the league in points per game and total points after her freshman year. Although she has the offensive tools to succeed, she needs to improve defensively. Aviles is a step slower at times and it allows her opponents to beat her to the paint. She also needs to work on getting over screens and sacrificing her body to earn charges. Nonetheless, Aviles is a player every coach would want on their team. She is selfless, positive, and consistent. She plays on the AAU circuit with New Heights.
Antoine is a dynamic player. Her footwork and IQ enables her to bypass her opponents with hesitations and other moves. She can score in multiple ways and can hit the three as well. Antoine is a dual-sport athlete and that has contributed to her defense awareness on the court. She takes no plays off and that is a rare trait. Antoine is also a physical player who isn’t afraid to use her body when rebounding and posting-up. The offense runs through her. However, she has proven consistently that she is capable of handling the workload. She is being looked at by several division 1 schools and currently holds an offer from Manhattan.
The lefty enjoyed a stellar second year after averaging 26 for New Dorps. She has developed her all-around game & is a threat to every opponent. Schrecker can shoot the three ball and drive when needed. She is fearless on the court and doesn’t back down from opponents twice her size. However, Schrecker needs to work on several areas before the next level. She needs to drive to the paint frequently. She often relies on her ability to shoot off the dribble which can limit her at times. However, that will come with time. She is a special player and one who can surprise a lot of people. She currently holds several D1 offers including Butler, Manhattan, LaSalle, McNeese and more.
Highlights
Kianny Aristy
Kianny Aristy
Aristy is a crafty guard who plays the game at her own pace. She is a confident shooter with excellent playmaking abilities. She is also a high energy guard who provides the balance her team needs. Although she has impressed, she hasn’t faced enough elite competition. She is also undersized which opponent can use to limit her contribution. Aristy also relies on her ability to drive which causes her to neglect/give up open shots. However, those can be worked on as she is still only a sophomore. She has a high ceiling and is someone schools should keep tabs on.
Little does nearly everything right. She is a decorated guard who handles the ball with ease. She creates her own shots while finding ways to get teammates involved. She controls the offense like a quarterback does – altering plays when needed. She has both stepback and floater moves down. Little is a PSAL winner and has everything coaches at the next level seek. She is currently ranked no. 2 in her position and 4 overall in the state of New York. She is undersized. However, that hasn’t never been a problem for her. She has impressed against some of the nation’s best, including IMG Academy. She has also competed in the “Nike Swoosh Classic.”
