Continue ReadingThe veteran holdover won a state title as a freshman and has become better and better as an offensive threat. Day averaged 16.9 points per game as a junior, but her identity lies with her elite effort. The Energizer Bunny is a pest on defense. Day brings infectious energy to the team. She stuffed the box score nightly averaging 3.9 rebounds, 2 assists and 3.3 steals.
Break in case of emergency. Whenever River Ridge needed a spark, the state champs turned to Gaw to be their sparkplug off the bench. Avery’s impact goes deeper than the numbers. She’s a strong athlete, quick-footed as an on-ball defender. Gaw scores on slashes, cuts and steals primarily, but she can stretch the floor when left open. Her biggest game of the season came in the Final Four when she went a perfect 3-3 from beyond the arc against Langston Hughes.
Coker took a major step forward her junior season. The southpaw helped Dawson County to the Elite Eight, making plays with her three-point shot but more so her timely hustle as she would pounce on loose balls and force turnovers when it mattered most. Kindra averaged 6.1 points and 4.2 assists while shooting 38% from three.
Davis embodied what it meant to be a Lady Charger, bringing toughness to the interior of Central-Macon. Tayelor is a rugged rebounder and a strong defender. She blocks out well and understands how to use her body to guard bigger players.
South Forsyth counted on Jadyn to be a jack of all trades. The swingman covers a ton of ground in the press and has a knack for jumping into passing lanes. Kniceley is very good at slicing her way to the rim and has a keen nose for the ball. Good things happen when Jadyn is on the floor because she’s always around the ball whether as a scorer, defender or rebounder.
