Shelcie LeBlanc – 5’8 G (6th Man Lady Warriors) Carencro
Was a total surprise when i sat on this court seeing LeBlanc running with the Lady Warriors but to no surprise of course she was hooping! Pushing the pace getting paint touches and finishing in the lane at will in the game I watched! One of the sleepers in the 2024 class college coaches need to get to EXIT 4 and put eyes on LeBlanc.
Rihanna Battles – 5’6 Pg (Team Up Lady Raiders) Northwood-Lena
Steady, steady, steady a Pg that does nothing to hurt herself or her team. Rihanna was the constant floor general for the Lady Raiders making play after play and not turning the ball over and scoring when need be. Waiting to see her shoot the long ball at a consistent clip once that happens her stock will go even higher then it is. She’s everything you want in a point guard.
Ray’Onna Sterling Ray’Onna Sterling 5'7" | PG Walker | 2024 State LA – 5’7 Pg (Louisiana United) Walker
Fresh off of a ACL injury Sterling hasn’t missed a beat. A magician in the PnR game she constantly made the rite reads that either lead to buckets for herself or her teammates. Normally a downhill-to-the-rim kid, I was very impressed with her pull-up game coming off the ball screens that’s a welcomed addition to her bag as the kid say. She defended at a high level as a Pg she defended a 6’2 kid and completely took her out the game it was very impressive to watch (DAWG MENTALITY). A kid that will be a still for some low major D1 school IQ, TOUGHNESS and LEADERSHIP everything you could want in your lead guard.
Grace Paul Grace Paul 6'2" | C Lafayette | 2024 State LA – 6’3 C (Dominoes) Lafayette
It’s time Grace get her just due the kid is improving every time I see her. She’s learned how to use her big frame to bang people up on the block and finish over either shoulder with a soft touch. I also like seeing her play from the elbow where she’s very capable of knocking down the 15-17 foot jumper and also has great vision from there, a well above average passer for a big. A big part of Grace’s game that’s improved is simply her mobility, she looks quicker and lighter on her feet now then she has in years past. Again could be a steal for a low Major D1 school.
Anaya Yunusah Anaya Yunusah 5'10" | PF Newman | 2024 State LA – 5’11 F (Louisiana United) Newman
Been calling her baby Barkley for a while now standing at 5’11 with one of the strongest frames I’ve seen on a high school kid in a while Anaya is sooooooo versatile. She can be your point guard or your center, she can lead you in assist, points and rebounds in any given game and that’s what she showed at the Heart of Texas before getting injured. She rebounded and scored it at a high level in her first three games and I was highly hurt for her since she didn’t get to finish out the weekend hooping. I cant wait to see what the future holds for her she will make some next-level coach very happy!
