First up we will take a look at the newcomers aka the incoming freshman the class of 2027! Early on this class looks to be filled with a few D1 Locks there’s a lot of length and size and very solid guard play in this class and it was on full display at the Heart Of Texas Showcase!
Kaylen Alexander

Introduced herself to the world at the Heart Of Texas this 5’11 may as well say 6’4 with her wingspan rising freshman did a little bit of everything. She defended multiple positions and rebounded very well outside her area, her timing on rebounding and shot blocking are a direct reflection of her being an elite volleyball player as well. I was also impressed with her foot work with the rock in her hands the spin moves and drop steps I witnessed with finishes were next level! You know you have a special player when the Og of the recruiting game and Texas legend Mr. Simmie praises her as a D1 Lock.
Ellie Johnson

Impressive a kid so young that plays at her own pace. I wondered how she would compete against high level athletes and ill just say she more then held her own. A one move down hill kid who showed she can create separation and get her beautiful jumper off whenever she felt like it. Defended ok can improve there but offensively as she grows she’ll easily be one of the best scores in the state going forward! Will also be in the running for best pure shooter in her class
Gabrielle Dotson

Physical playmaker for a young guard who played up in age at the Heart of Texas. Gabby handled pressure well and had some nice drives and finishes at he rim. Her feel for the game and decision making are things that stood out she didn’t try to force things like a lot of younger Hooper’s do she let the game come to her. Yes she could have been more aggressive but that will come in time. Her driving ability compound with a nice jumper she has a lot of things going for her offensively.
Jorden Geason

Volleyball and basketball are really translating these days, it was evident with Jorden that she’s a multi sport athlete! The Length and jumping ability of this incoming freshman is crazy. She grabbed board after board after board for her United club and in the game i watched she finished with 23 points and 16 rebounds finishing well around the rim and in transition. Offensively she has alot of room for growth but all the tools are there. I know we mentioned a kid already as a D1 lock ill say Jorden is a certified D1 lock.
Kamylle Jones

As you can see that Lake City 2027 bunch is loaded so let me introduce you to another prospect from the Pride. Kamylle is long, athletic, competitive and most importantly has that DAWG in her. This athletic guard from Southwest Louisiana did all the dirty work for her squad at the Heart of Texas seeing as though she’s high energy with a motor that just never stopped. As her offense continues to grow so will her stock!
Shanna Simien
Shanna Simien
I’ve already seen this kid score in bunches at the high school level as an 8th grader and at the Heart of Texas it was no different! Shanna consistently broke the press by herself while playing up at the event. For a guard she has some great moves on the block I was impressed by her post work as well as her ability to grab offensive boards from the guard spot. This might be saying a bit much but she puts me in mind of a female version Dwayne Wade.

Potential Potential Potential is the word for this young hooper! A kid that hasn’t even touch high school yet looks more high school ready body wise than a lot of high schoolers. And that body she uses well to rebound and finish through contact I love how vocal she is as a young hooper she really got after it at the Heart of Texas
