El McCabe – Wildwood Catholic (2024)
El was a crucial part of the Crusaders success this season as she embraced the biggest stages and persevered under pressure. With a long and lean physique, El possesses tremendous reach to swat shots and disrupt handles, set beautiful screens and uses a height advantage at 5’10” to elevate to shoot rainbow 3’s over defenders. El’s athleticism is a cut above the rest.
Kaitlyn McGuigan Kaitlyn McGuigan 5'6" | PG Lower Cape May | 2024 State NJ – Lower Cape May (2024)
With 11 games scored in double-figures, Kaitlyn had a junior year to remember with the Caper Tigers. Averaging just about 10 points per game, she found ways to score from just about everywhere on the floor. She used her speed and sliced in for 2 and used her range to step out behind the arc and knock it down. She uses screens effectively and creates space that allows her to get her shot off comfortably. An incredible asset to this Soldiers team!
Angelina Zagone Angelina Zagone 5'9" | SF Gateway | 2024 State NJ – Gateway (2024)
Angelina was one of the best players in South Jersey wire-to-wire. At nearly 6’0″, she has the height, the speed and the overall skills to play 1-5. She has a high motor, an even higher basketball IQ and is a tremendous knockdown 3-point shooter. With nearly 600 points scored and 200 rebounds grabbed, Angelina proved her ability to execute on both ends of the floor, sometimes single-handedly taking over a game. She is one player you do NOT want getting hot from 3. Just ask Lindenwold, who she torched with NINE of them en-route to a monstrous 48-point performance.
Destiny Wallace Destiny Wallace SF Wildwood Catholic Academy | 2024 State NJ – Wildwood Catholic (2024)
A tenacious, scrappy defender who isn’t afraid to go for steals or dive for loose balls, Destiny is ready for any assignment she is tasked with. A lock-down defender, she knows that defense wins championships; a mentality that will ultimately take her and the Soldiers far this season. If the team needs a quick stop, she is your go-to girl! She also does a nice job of turning defense into offense, using her aggressiveness and speed to drive in the lane for a smooth 2 in transition.
Madelynn Bernhardt Madelynn Bernhardt 5'7" | SF Our Lady Of Mercy | 2024 State NJ – Our Lady of Mercy Academy (2024)
Madelynn truly makes it look effortless out there! She has a smooth game and is a quiet scorer; before you know it, she’s in double-figures. Her basketball arsenal is a combination of offensive firepower and defensive enthusiasm. On defense, she disrupts the lanes, alters shots and makes life a nightmare for the opposition because her motor never dies down. Madelynn is a high-tempo, high intensity player from the first whistle to the last, which makes her incredibly dangerous.
Hannah Cappelletti Hannah Cappelletti 5'4" | PG Middle Township | 2024 State NJ – Middle Township (2024)
As skilled as she already is, Hannah has tremendous upside…which is wild because she already delivers in some pretty clutch ways! She has superb speed, unlimited range, a solid mid-range jumper and effective but disciplined defense. She’s a scoring threat whether she’s rolling off screens, cutting to the basket, pulling up from 15 feet or pulling up from 20 feet! Defenders have a hard time staying with Hannah because of her quickness and ability to get her shot off in a variety of ways.
Madison Palek Madison Palek 6'2" | PF Middle Township | 2024 State NJ – Middle Township (2024)
Madison’s first season with the Panthers proved successful, as she was instrumental in the team’s successful 23-9 season. She was their leading rebounder and one of their leading scorers, dominating on both ends of the court. At 6’1″, she brings a versatile “swing-man” style of basketball to the court and is able to run the floor like a guard, post up like a big and step out behind the arc and drill the deep ball. Her height, length and superior wingspan gives her an advantage over others in corralling the boards, deflecting and swatting shots and forcing turnovers. She draws multiple defenders which, in turn, leaves teammates open to knock down shots!
Sinaia Hills Sinaia Hills 5'11" | PF Wildwood | 2024 NJ – Wildwood (2024)
Sinaia had her best season yet with the Warriors, doubling her points and rebounds from her sophomore season and imposing her dominance in and around the paint. She notched 3 double-doubles and countless other games where she either scored or rebounded in double-figures. On a team lacking size, Sinaia was able to fill the void as their post presence and was a huge asset, playing a pivotal role in the Warriors making it to the South Jersey, Group 1 title game. She looks to carry over that intensity and success to the AAU circuit this Spring.
