Aubree Jeanotte – St. John – Aubree is a quick twitch guard that’s played Varsity since the 8th grade. A highlight of her season is dropping a career high 25 points against Dakota Prairie shooting 52% from the field. On the season she averaged 13.4 points 2 assists 3.7 rebounds and 3.8 steals a game. She improved her overall scoring from last year by 9 points and her field goal percentage by 8%. Statistically speaking she’s impressive, but this is a player you’ve got to mark down on your “to watch” list with the graduation of senior standout Natalie Decoteau Natalie Decoteau 5'10" | SG St. John | 2023 State ND , Aubree is the perfect fit to take the helm for the Woodchucks next season.
Elizabeth Fedje – Drayton/Valley-Edinburg – Elizabeth is slowly coming into her frame. A solid forward that saw a lot more action on the hardwood this year. Fedje is another player that’s played Varsity since the 8th grade almost doubling her stat categories this year averaging 7.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals a game. Fedje plays more like a 3 with some ball handling responsibilities she still needs to grow into. She’s got a pretty shot, but mid-range is more her game at the moment. With a lot more production to come Elizabeth is on track for a solid sophomore campaign as she’ll be looked too captain the ship for the Titans.
Ryan Wertmann – Lisbon – A very solid freshman season for Ryan. Shot 35% from beyond the arc 38% from the field, averaged 4.9 points and 2.1 rebounds a game. Ryan is a solid defender that moves her feet well and really limited mistakes as only a freshman averaging a little over 1 turnover a game. Statistically looking she’s as solid as a freshman as any coach could ask for. I anticipate a lot more production next year from Ryan as she’ll step more into the Varsity rotation.
Marleigh Henry – Westhope/Newburg – Henry saw the floor for about 9 minutes a night. Averaged a little over 2 points 1 rebound a game. Shot the ball 29% from the field and 25% from beyond the arc. Another statistical stateline that is typical for a freshman considering the Sioux had 2 star guards in Ellie Braaten Ellie Braaten 5'3" | PG Westhope-Newburg | 2023 State ND and Kimberly Tabarez Kimberly Tabarez 5'4" | PG Westhope/Newburg | 2024 State ND . With the graduation of Braaten some playing time and scoring contributions free up as well the graduation of senior center Karen Solis puts Henry in a solid position for more action next year.
Maya Glynn – Ellendale – No stat line was provided for Maya, but let me tell you this girl can hoop. She’s had varsity action since 8th grade and JV exposure since 6/7th. A solid guard that can defend. She’s long with quick hands and can get up and down the court like a baby deer. A talented lefty that continues to improve the more you watch her. With a consistent outside shot she’ll develop into a 3 level scorer in no time. Glynn is my dark horse pick to break out for the Cardinals next season.
