Listed below are several that caught my eye that had me taking notice. I know I missed several and I look forward to seeing you at the next event.
Kenna Espanza
Kenna Espanza
Kenna is a quick point guard that can break a press with her quickness and change of speed. She has good vision at the point guard position being able advance he ball on transition with the pass. Kenna showed quick feet as well on defense being able to pressure the ball in the open court. Great shooter that also know down the 3. Plays with a lot of confidence at the point. High IQ which a coach will like a the point position as well.
First time getting to watch Laykin in person and glad I was able to see her play. Very strong player that is very versatile able to play several positions on the court. At 5’10 she was able to physically post up and finish with a strong move. She is able to face up and take the defender to the basket off the dribble or knock down the 3. What was impressive is that Laykin with her skill set could be a match up problem for several opponents
Highlights
Katelyn at 5’8 is long athletic guard. Katelyn was able to score in many ways this weekend. She drove to the basket many time drawing contact, converting on several and one opportunities. Quick guard that understands scoring in a high tempo offense. Leading the break several times for easy layups or pulling up for a mid range range. Katelyn has a good understanding of man defense as well (helping the helper etc.)
Highlights
Sarah Williams
Sarah Williams
Sarah plays all out. She is a scrappy guard that has good vision and can get the rim off the dribble. She also showed a nice shot from the 3 point line as well What was impressive was the way that she attacks the ball pick. Several times turning the corner but what was impressive ability to shoot off the screen or even on top of the screen. Strong driver attacking the rim and able to get her shot off against the taller defenders
Laney Parnacher
Laney Parnacher
Laney plays the point guard and shooting guard position. Scrappy player on defense that plays with an all out attitude. She has good vision and handles the ball with confidence. She gives great effort on both ends of the court. At the 2 guard spot she can shoot the 3 or attack the close out with a hard drive getting to the rim. Very positive and vocal players
