Here are some evaluations of some recent highlight videos submitted to Prep Hoops.
Nicole Beatty (Florida Gulf Coast Miracle) Class of 2024 – Guard
Beatty is a talented guard who is a good perimeter shooter. She can knock down open 3s both off the catch and off the bounce. She is right hand dominant who when given the opportunity will put the ball to the floor and attack the rim. On the defensive end she is a good rebounder from the guard position and is an aggressive on ball defender.
Nicole Carreno Nicole Carreno 5'10" | SF Seffner Christian | 2024 State FL (Seffner Christian) Class of 2024 – Forward
Carreno is a big, strong, tall, versatile player who can rebound the ball, and let it fly from deep. For Seffner this season, she often played the trail post, rebounding the basketball, starting the break, and often knocking it down from 3 on the trail. She is a skilled offensive player who is a good passer and sees the floor well, with a high IQ.
Natalie Allen (Eau Gallie HS) Class of 2024 – Guard
Allen, a combo guard from Eau Gallie High in Melbourne finished the school season averaging 13 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals per game. A deadly 3-point shooter, Allen ranked 4th in the state for 2024s in made 3 pointers (66) and led 5A District 13 in scoring, field goals made, and 3 pointers made (66). On the season she was named 5A district 13 player of the year and also named to All Cape Coast Conference team. Not just a shooter, Allen is hard working, aggressive perimeter player who has a versatile skill set. She rebounds the ball well from the guard spot and is a good passer with good court vision and plays with an unselfishness, making the extra pass and finding the open player.
Salyse Dillihay Salyse Dillihay 5'7" | CG Atlantic Coast | 2024 State FL (Atlantic Coast High School) Class of 2024 – Guard
Dillihay, a class of 2024 5’7 Guard from Atlantic Coast High School in Jacksonville, FL moved to Jacksonville from Oklahoma a month before the school season. She is an aggressive player, who does not back down from her opponents and constantly accepts the matchup of guarding the opposing team’s best perimeter player. Her offensive game is improving, and she has a high ceiling. Her long, athletic frame and high upside make her an intriguing prospect. Look for her on the travel scene with FGB 17U Gold.
Asya Jones (Lady OTOD) Class of 2024- Guard
Jones is an aggressive penetrating guard who looks to attack the rim often from the top of the key, the wing, and the baseline. A capable 3 point shooter, she can stop and pop off the bounce and pull from 3. She is at her best in the open court and in transition attacking off the bounce and getting to the rim!
Sofia Mendez Sofia Mendez 5'7" | CG Miami Country Day | 2024 State FL (Miami Country Day) Class of 2024– Guard
Mendez was instrumental in helping MCDS bring home the 3A State Championship. She is a skilled scorer with 3 point range that helps her team space the floor by knocking down open 3s from the wing and corner off penetrate and kick. An unselfish player, Mendez makes the extra pass to the open player passing up the good shot for a great shot. She has a high IQ and excellent court vision, looking up the floor and making passes to lead for layups off defensive rebounds. An aggressive and active defender, she gets her hands on a lot of balls and runs through passing lanes for steals and deflections.
