I roamed around all 6 courts most of the day at Drive Nation trying to see as many players as possible and the opening day did not disappoint as I caught many players who did things that stood out. Not necessarily just scoring but making things happen to change the momentum, start, and (or) stop runs. Here you go
Abigaile Martin Abigaile Martin 5'8" | CG Sand Springs | 2025 State OK -5’7 SG ( Team Tulsa ) Charles Page {2025]
Martin showed she could not only drop the long ball, but she also hit at least 5, most of which were contested yet she spread them out. She also did a good job attacking the basket and seeing the floor
Breanna Mcelwee-5’7 G ( Team Tulsa ) Union Freshman Academy [2026]
Mcelwee is a strong and athletic guard that doesn’t mind battling for rebounds, in fact, she outrebounded taller players numerous times but her “on the ball” defense as well as scoring off the dribble stood out as well
Rebecca Jaroz-5’11 SG ( TNBA Houston 2025) St. Agnes [2025]
Jaroz showed consistency playing the passing lane and with her also being “long and athletic” she added scoring off the dribble. She has good timing and she went after the ball off the rim, on both ends
Gabriella Marie Whisenant- 5’7 G ( DC Queens 2025 Royal) Rockwall Heath 2027
Whisenant is an athletic guard that applies pressure defensively, on the ball. She also played the passing lane yet her court vision in the open court helped get them going early. She attacks the basket with either hand and showed good body control on her finishes
Brooklyn Hastings ( Nike Pro Skills Chad ) 2025
Hastings is also long and athletic and showed good hands-on defense as she came away with steals. Her “on the ball “defense was a definite plus, so was her mid to long-range jumper. She also did a good job handling the ball under pressure and seeing the floor
Kai Camp Kai Camp 5'8" Northwest High School, Justin TX | 2024 TX ( Team Stay Ready 2025)
Camp just goes hard, no matter what the score is and her energy trickles over to her teammates. She’s one of those “you won’t outwork me” type of players and her desire to go after the ball, on both ends, stood out. She also scored off the dribble and created contact attacking the basket on her finishes
Kamdyn Scott-5’11 F (TX Platinum 2026 S40 Bartlett) Tatum [2026]
Scott was another player that simply BATTLED for everything off the rim. Well, she also went after loose balls but what I also enjoyed was her defense, both inside the paint as well as “baseline to baseline “on the ball”. She scored around the basket as well as off the dribble and she played the passing lane
Caleah Kennedy Caleah Kennedy 6'2" | PF MacArthur | 2025 State TX -6’3 C/F ( Lady Sharks 2024) Macarthur [2025]
Kennedy left a lasting impression last season on the PGH Circuit because of her height, as well as being “long and athletic” and I mentioned her upside. Well, she’s taken her game to another level as she’s scoring stronger around the basket and not only rebounding but handling the ball afterward in the open court. Her timing to block shots has also improved as she’s altering and deflecting them also
