A true floor general for the NJ Panthers 17u. Super quick off the bounce. Uses her body well to create separation getting into her steps backs which she is comfortable with in the mid-range and at the 3-point line. Can stick the 3 but seems to prefer attacking off the bounce. Iyanna likes to get out and push tempo in transition. When she gets in the paint with the ball, she makes excellent decisions. She attacks the glass and is an in-your-face defender who pressures the ball and gets her hands in passing lanes. 12+ppg, 5+rpg, 3+apg and 2+spg in her junior year at Franklin HS. She can fill the stat sheet and should make a run at 1,000 points in her senior year.
NJ Panthers 16u found Mia all around the 3-point line this weekend and she didn’t disappoint. She was consistently knocking them down when given the opportunity. She does a very good job understanding floor spacing and getting to open spots. When the pass comes, she catches ready to shoot and finishes with a high arcing shot. When she passes into the post, she does a good job moving to open spots for the kick out. She had 10 games with multiple 3s as a sophomore at Gov. Livingston HS and should take her strong AAU showing into a big junior year.
Strong physical player who knows how to use her body inside. Gets position and finishes strong in the paint. She can step out and hit the 3, but her best attribute on the offensive end to me was her effort on the offensive glass. Carlie works hard to get in position and attacks the ball coming off the rim. Defensively, she uses her strength and length inside to force players to score over her. She does a good job getting blocked shots without fouling. A valuable asset in the paint on both ends for the United 17u Select 40 and a big summer should lead to a big senior year at Manasquan HS.
Highlights
A jack of all trades. Talia will give you a little bit of everything and a lot of effort along the way. She has a motor and is the consummate team player. This young lady can fill the stat sheet as evidenced by her 14+ppg, 4+rpg, 3+apg and 3+spg in her junior year at Columbia HS which included a 30 point effort in a game against Group 1 State Champion University HS. She is doing all the same things for her NJ Panthers 17u team. Talia makes big plays at big moments. Not reliant on the 3, she is an effort player who gets points in the framework of the offense.
