Being a good player is a part of being extremely coachable and coaches on the floor, all 5 of these players check mark all the boxes!
Kendyl Davis Kendyl Davis 5'9" | CG Westside | 2027 NE (OSA 2027)- The lefty for OSA was one of the soundest players the tournament had to offer. Great size and strength in the low block to score and defend. Davis possessed a skill that’s underrated and that’s the ability to sprint the floor with her hands up ready to catch and score. The icing on the cake for her selection was the intangibles she brought on the defensive end with her intensity, communication, and ability to stay in a stance the whole possession.
Khloe Nicholson (258 Mentality 2027)- Khloe is very intriguing, the 7th grader who played up was arguably the best player on the court at times. With her height and long wingspan to add to an elite handle she was a mismatch problem for everybody. Most people her size cant handle the ball with her size. Not only does Nicholson have a good handle but she’s the point guard and isn’t phased by any pressure! Being a point guard is more than just ball handling, it’s having a good feel for the game and she has exactly that.
Lilly Hund (Kansas Elite 2027)- Lilly is one of those players that seem like they make all the right plays. It’s tough playing against players like her because she has the size and IQ to cause problems all game long with her decision-making. The things Hund brings to the court you can’t game plan for because she plays unselfish and for her teammates so she’s always reading the court.
Myley Longcor (258 Mentality 2027)- Myley continued to impress us all weekend with her stellar play. One time I look over and she was diving on the floor pitching the ball ahead to her teammates. The next time I look over she’s guarding the ball and steals it from the girl at half-court which leads to a layup. The last time I look over she makes a post-entry pass, relocates, and gets it back to knock down the 3-pointer. Another bigger guard with good size who plays at a high level.
Corryn Estelle Corryn Estelle 5'9" | SF Papillion Lavista | 2027 NE (Team Factory 2027)- Mean on the court and the nicest person off the court is the type of person Corryn is. She emphasized her presence in the paint on the defensive end with all of her block shots sending players to the floor. Estelle is strong and extremely physical, when she went in for the ball it wasn’t much of a jump, she usually won it and you ended up on the floor. On the offensive end, she kept that energy going with her aggressiveness leading her straight to the rim and to the free-throw line. Estelle has every capability to lead her team to wins and will be intriguing to watch in high school.
