Last Monday we released the Spring rankings update for the Class of 2023. We have also changed formats to make rankings more exclusive, therefore at this time we are ranking just 125 total players in the Class of 2023, with the rest being placed on a watchlist of 125 players. This is the last list to be released for the Class of 2023 before they head off to college. In the meantime, I wanted to take this time to circle back and address all of the listed prospects, position by position. Below is a look at 27 combo guard prospects who make up 10.8% of the rankings this time around, with analysis on a handful to “keep an eye on” detailed at the bottom.

STILL AVAILABLE:
To the best of our knowledge, below are five prospects who remain available and who stood out at times throughout the Winter. If any of these prospects are already committed or at least know where they are planning to attend, even if they aren’t playing, please feel free to drop us a message through the Twitter messenger. Thanks!
Trinity had an outstanding Spring and Summer grassroots season in 2022, and she was again solid throughout the 2022-2023 high school season. She is a fairly strong combo guard, she’s a solid all-around athlete, and she has a very balanced skillset. She doesn’t force the action often and takes what is given to her. She can handle it and run offense, or she can knock down open jumpers or attack off the dribble. She’s also an effortful defender who is a willing rebounder.
Preslee has performed multiple roles throughout her high school career. Early on she was more of a scoring threat, but as a Junior she was asked to play more of a facilitating role and manage a game. Then, as a Senior, she stepped back into a big-time scoring role and proved she could put up points in a hurry from all areas of the floor. She is a tough-nosed, reasonably strong, and athletic kid. She competes every possession, and she will get after it at the defensive end of the floor as well.
Lauren is hidden a bit up in Northwest Indiana, but she has a great deal of skill to lend to a high-level small college program. She is extremely long, wiry, and smooth. She can get downhill, and she finishes well with a variety of runners/floaters. She can knock down the perimeter jumper or even slide over and run/manage offense, but it’s her ability to get gaps and put pressure on a defense that stands out. Defensively, she affects passing lanes with her length and causes problems.
Aubry isn’t very tall, but she makes a big impact on most games she plays. She is a dangerous shooter with deep range and can get hot very quickly. She is quick, fast, and explosive, and she can attack gaps and put a lot of pressure on the defense. She’s a willing passer, but she can also draw fouls. Defensively, she is very feisty, and she can cause a lot of problems defending ball-handlers. I also like the fact that she aggressively pursues rebounds at her size and doesn’t fear contact.
Cadence is a strong, physical, but athletic combo guard who does a little of everything well. She is best attacking the basket and getting downhill, but she is also a very good perimeter shooter with nice touch. As she has gotten older, her handle and decision-making on the ball has improved, and she is more than capable of running offense and finding open teammates. I also like her effort and toughness at the defensive end of the floor, plus she’s a willing and capable rebounder.
