Last Monday we released the Spring rankings update for the Class of 2023. We have also changed formats to make rankings more exclusive, therefore at this time we are ranking just 125 total players in the Class of 2023, with the rest being placed on a watchlist of 125 players. This is the last list to be released for the Class of 2023 before they head off to college. In the meantime, I wanted to take this time to circle back and address all of the listed prospects, position by position. Below is a look at 48 shooting guard prospects who make up 19.2% of the rankings this time around, with analysis on a handful to “keep an eye on” detailed at the bottom.

STILL AVAILABLE:
To the best of our knowledge, below are five prospects who remain available and who stood out at times throughout the Winter. If any of these prospects are already committed or at least know where they are planning to attend, even if they aren’t playing, please feel free to drop us a message through the Twitter messenger. Thanks!
Gloria had an outstanding season for Greencastle, helping them to a 23-5 record and a Semi-State appearance. Averaging 25.5 ppg, 10.4 rpg, 3.4 apg, and 4.7 spg, she led the Tiger Cubs in nearly every statistical category. She possesses strength, quickness, and creativity, plus she can take on a variety of roles. She’s a pure scorer who can make shots at all levels, but she can also slide over and initiate the offense, or, if needed, she can take on the responsibility of defending the other team’s best player.
Kirsten is a long, wiry-strong, and fairly smooth athlete. She plays with a tremendous motor, and she’s willing to do a lot of the “little things” that help teams win. She has some touch around the perimeter, plus she can put it on the floor and attack the basket North/South. Defensively, she can take on bigger guards, wings, and some undersized forwards, and she does a nice job of rebounding her position. She is one of those prospects who is just solid and productive at most areas of the game.
Due to need and the health of a teammate, Eva bounced around between positions throughout high school, but I feel like these last two seasons, she has settled into what she’ll play in college. She is a fairly strong wing guard, she is a nice North/South athlete, and she can attack the basket straight-line with intent and draw contact. She also possesses some touch around the perimeter, making her really good in ball-screen situations. Defensively, she uses her physicality well but could be a little quicker.
I felt like Jaylee really stood out in a Fall showcase event, and she carried that over into a solid Senior season, helping the Lady Bulldogs to the Class 2A State Finals. She has an athletic frame, some length, and she moves well in most directions. She always plays with a motor, and she shows some skillful versatility as well. She can occasionally handle the ball and initiate the offense, she can get to the basket, knock down shots from deep, plus she has a nice mid-range pull-up. She’s also an effortful defender.
Kennedy played for a very balanced, skillful, and successful high school team throughout her four years, and she somewhat acted as their perimeter shooting threat at times. She is long, wiry, and fluid/smooth, and when she’s able to get her feet set and her shoulders square, she is a dangerous perimeter shooter. With that said, she can also handle the ball a little and initiate the offense, plus she does a nice job of using her length to affect passing lanes defensively and keep people from penetrating.
