The people of the WPA-Bruins and city did a tremendous job of hosting and let me tell you, this event was first class all the way. Top shoe teams from Nike, Adidas, Under Armour, and Independent clubs, were all in attendance to get some work in before the live period this weekend. Let me tell you, if you were in attendance, you saw some pretty good action. Girls did work out there and it was a great showing of what’s to come this upcoming live viewing period where coaches will be in attendance.
From the state of Tennessee, we had two clubs (based from our state) that were in attendance getting some action in. A tough Team Brandan Wright program along with TTG Free Agents, were up against the likes of Philly Rise, Team Durant, West Virginia Thunder, and others just to name a few. They did a phenomenal job going up against stiff competition, creating momentum leading into this upcoming weekend. Folks, we got some true hoopers within these borders.
Here are some standouts who were reppin our area in the Steel City.
Ella Ryan Ella Ryan 5'10" | PG Brentwood | 2025 State TN (TBW Black’25/Brentwood)- Cold blooded. The girl has ice in her veins. Knocked off a tough midwest club from a come from behind effort. This is a testament to the coaching and the poise of the players on that squad. With 12 seconds to go, the girls did a give n’ go action that finished with Ella knocking down a 3 ball at the buzzer to win the game. Though this was only one play, Ella was clutch all weekend long. From knocking down shots from beyond the arc, playing defense, getting boards, her stock rose significantly as she was showing people she belongs in the upper echelon of conversation. Great young woman who plays with a chip on her shoulder.
Kabria Revels Kabria Revels 5'8" | SG Beech | 2024 State TN (TBW Red’24/ Beech)– Stellar weekend of competing. Got to the rim to finish, but was a lockdown defender on the other opponents best player. Didn’t matter who it was, Kabria was in that girl’s personal space the length of the floor. Top scorers from the other team were left in single digits as Kabria gave her all, helping her team to victories. Drenched in sweat, you knew she left everything she had out on the court.
Aaiyanna Dunbar Aaiyanna Dunbar 6'2" | C Blackman | 2024 State TN ( TBW Black’24/Blackman)– Solid post player who was finishing around the rim. Great in the pick n’ roll game, grabbed O boards and finished with contact, was stellar on the defensive front as well. What impressed me the most was how vocal she was in helping her team excel. From calling out screens, to hedging , little detailed things, she was on top of it. She showed true leadership and was the anchor in the middle for her club.
Taylor Holt Taylor Holt 6'1" | SF East Hickman | 2024 State TN (TBW Black ‘24/ East Hickman.)– Used her size to her advantage and was clutch from the field. Taylor is 6’2 and was letting that thing fly from deep. Her confidence was crazy as she shot the ball with ease, hitting the net along the way. Her defense caused teams to counter anytime she was within the action. Her presence on the floor opened up other opportunities for teammates to eat. Lipscomb University is getting a steal in this kid for sure.
Jarius Powers (TTG Free Agents/ Alton (IL)– Was in beast mode. The 6’0 powerful forward was looking to attack early and often. She battled on the boards, contributed in the scoring column, and bodied up opponents, making it difficult for them to score. She was sensational, providing energy for the club, giving them that edge as she did the little things to gain opportunities. Tough kid who outworked any girl who stood in her way.
Nevaeh Caffey (TTG Free Agents/ Incarnate Word Academy (MO)– A magician with the ball in her hands, she was getting buckets with ease. From the arc, slashing to the painted area, she was “all systems go” as she got to the cup. Heady player who was lethal on both ends. Brough fire and energy to her club and carved up defenses along the way.
Kenidi Glover (TTG Free Agents/ Duncanville)– Grinder. Super tough kid who is going to be a tough matchup nightly. Got buckets with ease, but was a force on the defensive end. 6’0 frame made it tough for opponents to work as she locked them up consistently. Gets up and down the floor well, finishing at the cup often. Great build, powerful athlete who is surely someone who will attract the eye of next level coaches. Hustle and heart.
