SubscribeHere are the players I caught on both days that stood out, one more time, please turn in roster information ahead of time so your exposure can be maximized, I know it sounds like a broken record, but I’ve been saying for years yet here we are and here they are
Tristen Golden ( League City Sharks ) MVP
Golden keeps adding more to her impressive game and first of all, her poise under pressure attracted me a few years ago, that too is the base yet she’s heady, plays within herself, and already understands how to not only control the tempo, but make those around her better. She scores off the dribble attacking and finishing with either hand, after contact, her mid to long jumper is nice, she creates it under what else, pressure and her unselfishness always stand out as she sees the floor and gets her teammates in position for gimmes
Carla Thompson-5’3 G (Pro Skills Austin 2027) Pearson Ranch MS [2027]
Thompson showed me I wasn’t seeing a mirage as she showed me over and over her first step was a problem. Well her ballhandling and court vision kept grabbing my attention yet her speed with the ball and hitting teammates while going full speed had me smiling. Her body control and acrobatic finishes were nice, and so was her shooting the ball while being defended yet her “catch and shoot” is going to be huge as she continues to progress. She also brings “on the ball” pressure on the defensive end and her quick hands got her some steals
Madison Bedford-5’7 G ( SSW Elite 2028) Youree Drive MS [2028]
Bedford also showed me a whole lot of the same thing on both days and her understanding of how to use her athleticism on both ends at this stage, while playing up tells me a lot because I am a REAL EVALUATOR. She’s on the verge of being a nightmare to defend in the open court, she sees the floor going full speed yet she can drop the “stop and pop” in transition or attack strongly and finish after contact. Her body control is really nice yet she plays the passing lane and applies baseline-to-baseline pressure on the defensive end
Maya Williams-5’8 SG ( Team Game Changer 2027) Summit [2027]
Williams showed me that “stroke” and she understands how to set the defender up and drop it from mid to long-range with a hand in her face. She’s focused and shoots the ball with confidence but in the set, she mixes up nicely after creating her shot. Her ability to “catch and shoot” coming off the screen stood out or just elevated in the half-court and dropped it. Her deceptive first step got her by defenders, she uses her college-ready frame to attack, contact is irrelevant because she’s strong and her body control is also very nice
Brooklyn Roberson ( League City Sharks )
Roberson is THE GLUE and she’s the type of player that can fill up a stat sheet in the flow. She understands the game and plays within herself yet on the flip, she also can take over a game offensively and find ways to put the ball in the basket. She scores from outside, she attacks strongly and under control, and her finishing after the lick consistently makes her an “and one” waiting to happen. She has a strong frame, understands positioning, and rebounds on both ends, yes she scores on putbacks and she does a good job defending
Kelah Crawford-6’1 F ( SSW Elite 2027)
Crawford has some scary upside because of two things, she stands over “the magic number” which is 6’0 and she’s “long and athletic” which will always be the base. She too has a college-ready frame and watching her go after EVERYTHING off the rim is a major intangible. Her timing is good, and so is her interior defense yet her lateral movement helped her defend on the perimeter as well. She has good “hands and footwork” to finish around the basket yet her showing the “drop step” dropped the mic
