SubscribeSome teams I caught multiple times, some I caught only once, or just a glimpse but it never ceases to amaze me to not have simple information turned in ahead of time yet what is even more amazing is when it’s turned in at NCAA Certified events to NOT be seen, just mind-boggling but one thing about being a REAL EVALUATOR, it doesn’t take me long to KNOW what I am looking at and here is my All-Tournament team
Madison Mayes-5’10 F ( Houston Lady Nets 2025) Summer Creek [2025]
Mayes has been progressing in every tournament I’ve had a chance to catch her starting with the #SimmieColsonClassic and her being “long and athletic” and refusing to be outworked are part of the reasons why her game is elevating. Speaking of elevating, she’s doing that around the basket not only to rebound, on both ends but scoring on putbacks. She’s also showing a nice turnaround jumper and when you factor in she can take the defender off the dribble and finish after contact, the pluses keep adding up. She also does a good job defending and playing the passing lane
Natalie Barrett-5’10 G/F ( DC Queens 2025 Royal) Rockwall [2027]
Barrett is playing up and performing at a high level, and her frame and skillset create some problems for defenders. She rebounds strongly on both ends, and she can handle the ball and go “coast to coast” yet her court vision in the open court impressed me as she hit teammates on the money or already understands how to lead the ball in front of whoever is running with her on the break. She even threw a bounce pass between defenders for an assist, from 15 feet yet her poise at this stage puts her on another level. She defends, plays the passing lane, and scores both off the dribble as well as from midrange
La’Nai Harris-5’6 G ( United Lady Elite 2025) Shoemaker [2025] MVP
Harris is an athletic guard that has “explosive” attached to her because off the dribble, in the set, or in the open court, she’s hard to stay with. She handles the ball going full speed and stays under control and understands how to not only run a team but control the tempo. Her court vision is solid yet watching her leave defenders standing still to attack off the dribble and finish strongly after contact, sometimes using exceptional body control, was nice yet she also ignites her teammates as her energy trickles over
Brianna McIlwee-5’7 G ( Team Tulsa 2025) Union Fresh Academy [2026]
McIlwee has been showing me a variety of things since I first caught her yet “long and athletic” is and always will be the base because not only do I love that profile, but college coaches also love it and they offer next-level opportunities. Her intangibles are nice, starting with her UPS and watching her go after everything off the rim, as well as her timing to block, alter and (or) deflect shots. She also has a nice pull-up jumper, both in the set as well as in transition but she creates her shot under pressure and can also take the defender off the dribble and finish after contact
Peyton Williams (Pro Skills 16U National 1) Klein
Williams showed me enough as I caught her on Sunday for a short time but her being “long and athletic”, see above, made it easy for me. It was also easy for her to set the defender up with a deceptive first step to attack the basket and she finished after the lick yet she also showed she could face the basket and score. She stays under control and did a good job defending but she understands the little things that are HUGE like positioning as she rebounded on both ends of the court.
