Chiawana – 3 2025 ranked players – Two in the top 10 – One 2026 ranked player
Formerly ranked number one in the Class of 2025, she is now at three. As I said before, no fault of her own, she is a dominant post player who you could make the argument for number one with her numbers this season. A double double nearly every night, she overpowered opposing teams on the block, averaging 18 points and 14 rebounds. She is a great back to the basket post with the size and skills to go with it. She has great footwork, and really understands how to use her size to score on the block. Add a soft touch shooting touch and she has all the tools to be the go to player on a very good Chiawana team. rn
Highlights
#7 in the updated rankings. A uniquely skilled player who has guard like skills at 6’2. Averaged 14 points and 9 rebounds this season. She can score from all levels and has a great shooting touch from three. She can get out in transition, with or without the ball and make plays with her ability to finish, either around the basket or in the mid-range. Her shot is one that looks to be capable of becoming an elite level three point shooter. She showed some of that this season with 30 threes made. That number will likely increase along with the percentage. She is a high ceiling prospect who should be getting lots of attention from college coaches with the versatility and length to play anywhere on the floor. Likely to be a stretch three and a great one at that. rn
Another shooter, she made 29 threes at 38% this season while averaging 5 points per game. With all the talent on this team, she didn’t need to score a lot but is capable of doing so. She adds that outside shooting threat that will be important with the attention that Ruud draws on the inside. She can play at the point guard or shooting guard, adding depth to the backcourt. There’s also freshman Gianna medelez who led the team with 34 threes made. She also dished out just over two assists per game as probably the best ball handling guard on the team. Chiawana has all the pieces to make a big run in the next couple years. rn
Garfield – 3 2025 ranked players – #1 2024 ranked player – two 2026 ranked players – Three straight state championships
The 9th ranked player in the class of 2025. A versatile player with great length. At 6’4 She is a perimeter player who scores on all levels. She is very skilled with some unique talents at her size. She can get up and down the floor, scores well and finishes in the paint, protects the rim with her defense, and rebounds. She has arguably the most sought after recruit in the state running the show for her team in Katie Fiso Katie Fiso 5’10” | PG Garfield | 2024 State WA (#1 2024). Lessig has been a part of two of the three titles Garfield state titles. They have won the last three in class 3A. Lessig was a big factor this season and played well in the post-season. She provided scoring and rebounding, not to mention bothering and blocking shots. She defends with good quickness for her size length. She is a great player who plays on the most dominant team in the state of Washington in recent years. There are plenty more players who return in search of a 4th straight state championship next season. They lose seniors Rakiyah Jackson Rakiyah Jackson 5’8″ | CG Garfield | 2023 State WA and Imbie Jones Imbie Jones 6’2″ | SF Garfield | 2023 State WA both 2nd team all metro this season. Neveah Talbert also will be gone to graduation. They still should be the favorite to get a 4th consecutive. rn
Highlights
Number 11 in the rankings. A highly skilled and tough guard who was a consistent scoring threat this season. She is one who has shown great ability to get into the lane and score with some crafty and skilled moves. A downhill player who gets to the basket with purpose and takes some of the pressure off of Fiso in the backcourt with the ability to score points for Garfield. She can stretch the defense with her three point shooting as well. Expect this backcourt to be one of the most dominant in the state in 2024. In the state quarterfinal win over Lakeside, Lewis had 15 points and 7 steals. Lessig had 12 points, mostly coming in the paint along with 7 rebounds. They provide a great supporting class to the #1 ranked Katie Fiso Katie Fiso 5’10” | PG Garfield | 2024 State WA , a four star prospect and two time state tournament and Metro league MVP. rn
Yet another weapon in the Garfield backcourt, she has plenty of experience the last two years. She played an important role in both her freshman and sophomore year. She should have a bigger role next year with the loss of the three starters on this year’s team. She will have no problem stepping up to the challenge with her talents. She comes in at #15. There are also 2026 players Devyn Hall Devyn Hall 5’5″ | CG Garfield | 2026 State WA and Star Smiley Star Smiley 6’0″ | SF Garfield | 2026 State WA along with 2024 Naima Joseph Naima Joseph 6’5″ | C Garfield | 2024 WA who is 6’5. rnMy apologies if I missed some, but I think we get the idea.
