These Forwards can play multiple positions and have strengths in more than just one position on the court. The Summer Live period is going to be big for these prospects and we are looking “FORWARD” to seeing them on the big stage.
Aniyah Fisher Aniyah Fisher 5'9" | SF St. Augustine HS | 2024 State FL Can’t wait to see Fisher in the gym this upcoming summer. Fisher is such a versatile player who can do so much on a basketball court. For one, she is very good in the pick-and-roll game as the ball handler or as the player rolling to the goal. She can also shoot from behind the arc or drive it if you close out too fast. Fisher has good handles which allows her to play at the top of the offense and provide help in press break and pressure situations. As a rebounder, Fisher is tough on the offensive glass where she utilizes a quick jump and strong hands to give her team second-shot opportunities and easy put-backs. On the defensive boards, Fisher can get the rebound and initiate the fast break and offense. Finally, she excels on the defensive end of the floor. Fisher is a magician in the middle of the press. She plays well in the passing lanes and has great anticipation of when to pick off a pass. I can’t wait to see more of Fisher during the summer live period.
Kyana Poitier Kyana Poitier 5'11" | PF Palm Beach Gardens | 2024 State FL was a player who caught my eye while watching the Apachee Memorial. Poitier has some of the best hands around and just snags passes and rebounds out of the air. She impressed with her offense as well showing the ability to shoot the midrange shot and score in the paint. Defensively, Poitier has great size and versatility, allowing her to defend multiple positions and areas on the court. At Apachee she held it down in the middle against quality bigs and also was good out in space against wing players. She used her length and strength very well and stood out in the transition game. Poitier demonstrated the ability to run the floor, catch the pass on the break, and score. She is a superior athlete on the court. Her talent and rebounding really stood out and I can’t wait to see her in the live period this summer.
Nykeria Thomas Nykeria Thomas 5'10" | CG Mandarin | 2024 State FL is another forward that we want to see this summer live period. Thomas is also versatile and can play positions one through four. I saw Thomas earlier this travel season and she was playing the four and playing it well. Thomas is a special offensive player who can score the basketball. She can face the basket and get to the cup, or she can go down in the post and get baskets. She can shoot it from any angle and has great creativity when she gets inside the paint. Looking to see more of Thomas this upcoming summer live period.
Highlights
Nia Blocton Nia Blocton 6'0" | PF Ridgeview | 2024 State FL is one of the toughest forwards out there. I can’t wait to see her this summer playing elite versus elite basketball. Regardless of the competition Blocton seems to rise to the occasion and play her game. Blocton is a tough scorer on the inside and is also a great rebounder who does a good job of tracking the ball and knowing where to position herself for the rebound. As a reminder she was one of the top rebounders in the country as a Freshman. Offensively, Blocton has been a mismatch because of her ball handling abilities and footwork in the middle. She has put a lot of good players at a disadvantage and in foul trouble due to her good footwork , upper body strength and her ability to handle the ball. She handles the ball a lot for a big and is the primary person in the middle for press break, offensive sets, and isolation plays. She is a force and I can’t wait to see more of this 2024 forward in the upcoming live period.
Gabby Bush Gabby Bush 5'11" | SF Tampa Prep | 2024 State FL is versatile and can play the 1,2, or 3 position on the floor. Last year during the live period, Bush had a performance that still comes to mind. Her team was down a point guard and she moved over to the point guard position and lead her team to victory doing whatever it took. Bush can shoot it from behind the arc, she can attack the rim, and she flourishes in the fast paste transition game. Looking forward to seeing Bush this summer live period.
