Continue ReadingAs the summer is itching forward and seniors are beginning to fully commit to their schools for next year. For this series of articles, I will be taking a look into where some seniors are headed to play. These might not be everyone playing at the next level, these are players who have announced it or that I’ve been able to find. Some of these players have yet to finalize their decision. There are tons of more players who will be playing at the next level too.
Malia Samuels Malia Samuels 5'7" | PG Garfield | 2023 State #46 Nation WA – Garfield HS
Malia is one of the best players, if not the best player in the entire class. She scores at all 3 levels very efficently, even displaying a very nice floater in the paint when driving. She shoots off the catch and off the dribble smoothly and is a great overall playmaker. She will be headed to USC for her college career.
Imbie Jones Imbie Jones 6'2" | SF Garfield | 2023 State WA – Garfield HS
Imbie plays alongside some of the best players in the entire state but is able to standout in her own ways. She is efficient on offense and uses her 6’2″ frame to her advantage. She’s a team leader on and off the court and leads by example and by using her voice. She will be furthering her basketball career at Wisconsin.
Sydney Hani Sydney Hani 6'1" | SF Lake Washington | 2023 State WA – Lake Washington HS
Lake Washington is another team that has a lot of talent but Hani stands out in her own ways on the court. Sydney facilitates the ball very well and finds her teammates when they are open. She attacks the bucket strongly and can do so with either hand. She’s improved her mid-range and long-range shot over her senior season. She will be headed to Azusa Pacific ‘ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”] University.
Demi Dykstra Demi Dykstra 5'9" | CG Lynden Christian | 2023 State WA – Lynden Christian HS
Demi has played big roles for the Lyncs over the past couple seasons and even helped the team to a state championship and some deep playoff runs. She handles the ball nicely and moves well without the ball in her hands. She is able to knock down shots with ease, from most spots on the court. She will be staying local and attending Western Washington University.
Naomi Hotchkiss Naomi Hotchkiss 6'4" | C Puyallup | 2023 WA – Puyallup HS
Naomi teamed up with Maddy Weaver Maddy Weaver 6'2" | C Puyallup | 2024 State WA for Puyallup creating a duo that is very, very hard to guard. She is a hard working player, always trying to perfect her craft. She has great footwork down low and has improved her finishing abilities with both hands. Her high motor will help her transition smoothly as she attends Vanguard University.
Peyton Akins Peyton Akins 5'8" | SG Curtis | 2023 WA – Curtis HS
Peyton is a player who had her recruiting really take off after her senior year. She is a shifty lefty guard who finds her spots nicely and can knock down shots. She is quick and able to stop on a dime for a quick mid-range shot. She is a leader on and off the court and finds her teammates often. She is taking her talents to California State University at Monterey Bay.
Jenna Villa Jenna Villa 6'1" | SF Arlington | 2023 State WA – Arlington HS
Jenna is one of the best pure scorers in the entire state of Washington. She had multiple 30+ point performances and shot the ball at a very high percentage. She scores at all 3 levels, being able to attack the ball and finish by defenders in the paint very well. Jenna will be headed to Washington State to continue her playing career.
