Golson has always carried a reputation as a high level defender that likes to mix it up and help to create turnovers. So far this grassroots season, she has also been excellent on the offensive end with her consistent shooting and scoring. This a great sign for New Haven. If Golson can score like this and remain a high energy defender, it will flat out lead to wins.
Tornes is definitely a player that deserves more ink. She’s been an efficient and high percentage scorer, but her game really starts on the other end. Tornes continues to play gnat like defense, staying in the offensive player’s business and frustrating them to no end. She could be a big part of a lot of wins come high school season.
Rice can direct traffic on both ends of the floor. She has smooth movement and is fast up and down the court. Rice plays the passing lanes well and is known to cause a few turnovers when doing so. Her speed allows her to get out in transition where she can finish with touch as well as find her teammates.
Sparks could be considered a savvy veteran at this point. She’s a highly efficient guard that plays with a cool head and makes solid decisions with the ball. Sparks gets the ball from A to B in the most high percentage way possible. She does a great job recognizing good looks at the rim and taking advantage of them when they’re available. Simply said, Sparks is a winning lead guard.
Kosmowski was a critical piece of a memorable Goodrich state playoff run. She proved that she was indeed a big game player. When the lights were shining the brightest, Kosmowski seemed to play even better. The Honorable Mention All-State performer will look to help lead her team on another magical run.
