I was able to attend the event on Sunday, June 18 and got a look at all of the teams that played that day. Here’s a look at some of the top standouts.
1.
Alyssa Badua

– Granada Hills/SoCal Shooters 2026
Badua is a quick, little point guard who is effective at running an offense. Good handles who consistently attacks the defense and keeps them on the defensive. Good crossover to get into the lane and get free. She can use screens well and can shoot consistently from the midrange if the defense goes under the pick. Shoots out in transition and can finish on the break. Has range out to the three-point line as well. Floor leader.
2. Alena Wilson – Lancaster/AV Elite 2026
Wilson has good size and is a bit of a combo guard/wing. She can handle the ball and has guard-like skills but in most matchups is probably going to be at forward. She’s comfortable with the ball in her hands in the halfcourt and in transition; able to push the ball on the break. In the halfcourt, she can make the right reads/passes as a playmaker. Can shoot from three-point range. Able to hit the glass well with her length/size.
3. Val Cabral – SoCal Shooters 2027
One of the main things that stood out about Cabral was her activity and energy. She made a lot of hustle plays and isn’t afraid to dive on the floor for loose balls. She stays aggressive and looks to attack the defense. Consistently hits the glass and grabs boards. On the offensive end, she moves without the ball in the halfcourt but did show an ability to shoot the pull-up jumper in transition.
4.
Ava Armstrong

– Desert Christian/AV Elite 2026
Armstrong has the tools to be a good scoring point guard. A little on the small side but can be effective against bigger defenders. She has solid handles and does a good job attacking the basket off the dribble. Reads the defense well and finds the cracks. She stood out defensively too. Good on ball defender with a good stance. Able to keep the ball-handler in front of her.
