Continue ReadingIt’s never a bad time to talk about high school basketball, and this story will take a deep dive into the North Jersey Interscholastic Conference. As we’ve done in numerous other articles, this one will solely focus on the 1000 point plateau, a goal for many high schoolers. Here are a handful of players we think could reach that mark next season.
We will talk about Allie Shenloogian Allie Shenloogian 5'7" | CG Park Ridge | 2025 State NJ out of Park Ridge up top as she’s just 10 points away from 1000 and we’ve talked about her at length in other articles. She’s an incredible scorer and is going to reach that plateau in game one.
Mia Lewis Mia Lewis CG Montclair Immaculate | 2024 State NJ – Lodi Immaculate (2024)
It has been a steady stream of success for Lewis at Lodi, scoring over 300 points in each of the last two seasons, averaging 12.8 PPG over 49 total games. She’s currently less than 270 points away from 1000 for her career, putting her in a perfect spot to reach that mark as a senior. Her success as a sophomore will be something we’re watching this coming season, a bounce back to that form hopefully.
Cristina Parrella Cristina Parrella 5'10" | SG Saddle River Day | 2024 State NJ – Saddle River Day (2024)
The future Princeton Tiger, announcing her commitment to the Ivy League powerhouse on Wednesday, has been a baller on the floor the last three years between Demarest and most recently SRD. Parrella crossed over the 900 career point mark as a junior, making her primed to reach 1000 early on as a senior and potentially making a run for 1,250 career points.
Katie Reiner Katie Reiner 5'8" | SG Becton | 2025 State NJ – Becton (2025)
We might have spoken about Reiner for one of these future 1000 point scorer lists previously, but since she plays in the NJIC and through two high school seasons, she sits just 94 points away from 1000, she is a perfect candidate for this list. Dare we say she could reach 1,500 points in the same season? It’s more than possible after averaging north of 20.0 PPG as a sophomore.
Erin Fahy Erin Fahy PF Cresskill | 2024 State NJ – Cresskill (2024)
It’s not often that we get players who could cross two major milestones in one season, something Fahy has the opportunity to do with Cresskill come the fall/winter. She sits nearly 200 points away from 1000 points and 355 rebounds away from 1000. While it’s looking more likely that she’ll hit 1000 points, being on the cusp of potentially achieving two is a massive testament to what the forward has done in her high school career to date.
Faith Williamson Faith Williamson 5'8" | PG Saddle River Day | 2025 State NJ – Saddle River Day (2025)
Williamson burst onto the scene early on, backing up her freshman year performance with consistent showings. She finished the year with 663 career points, putting her on track to eclipse 1000 points as a junior. The sharp-shooter knocked down 76 three-pointers on the year and could be part of a select few to hit 200 three-pointers in her career by season’s end, having done so in just three years’ time.
Julianna Almeida Julianna Almeida 5'9" | SG Saddle River Day | 2024 State NJ – Saddle River Day (2024)
Of the players we included on this list, Almeida is the one who will need to put in a career year to reach 1000 points, currently more than 440 points away. Last season was her first averaging in double-figures, scoring 13 points a game. To hit the milestone, she’ll need to average nearly 16.5 PPG, a jump of more than three points, but knowing she nearly doubled her scoring output from her sophomore year as a junior, it’s more than possible.
