Lillian “Lily” Couarrubias (Arnold Elite)
Couarrubias sees the floor in the set as well as in the open court and watching her attack the basket countless times to finish after contact was nice. Her body control played a part in that, and so did her numerous fakes to get the defender leaning yet her body control was also impressive. She handled the ball under pressure, did a good job of directing traffic, and even showed she could drop the long ball
Chassidy Fluker ( Waco Elite 15U)
Fluker has a college-ready frame and is on the verge of breaking out and doing some serious damage. I love watching players that do things you can’t teach and her DESIRE to go after everything off the rim is special but so is her punishing defenders and scoring on both putbacks, as well as around the basket. She also attacked the basket relentlessly and her “on the ball” pressure was smothering
Kiyanna Moore ( Waco Elite 15U)
Moore’s ceiling has no roof and what she’s doing now, she’s from the 2027 class, against players in high school tells me a lot, well a whole lot. She can score from outside as well as “off the dribble” yet her court vision was a huge plus and that, coupled with her handling the ball while being tightly defended spoke volumes, so did her finding ways to put the ball into the basket
Majesti Banks (287 Elite)
Banks left me speechless as she proved #sizedontmatter as she simply outworked players galore. She has a knack for getting to the basket multiple ways yet her attacking and finishing over much taller players after contact JUST DID IT for me, and if that was the icing on the cake, her rebounding and finishing on putbacks, against taller players, definitely lit the candles
Katrina Greer ( Waco United )
Greer is “long and athletic” and that will always be the base so her coming from out of nowhere to block shots was a huge adrenaline booster for me. She played the passing lane and applied baseline-to-baseline pressure defensively, yet she also defended inside the paint. She also scored around the basket as well as off the dribble yet her rebounding on both ends was very nice
Talaiyah Andrews (SA Lady Hoops Navy)
Andrews did a number of things to grab my attention, first of all, she battles for rebounds as well as loose balls and she even was the beneficiary of some tie-ups. She scored around the basket, her drop step, and finish after contact deserves the #THRO WBA CK hashtag yet she did a good job of not only attacking the basket but defending inside and outside the paint
Ellie Lester (Stat Elite) 2029
Lester left me speechless at times yet I can write about her “tough as nails” mentality because she too is a #sizedontmatter guard yet she’s heady, skilled, and understands something very important and that’s how to “play within herself”. She scored off the dribble, attacked with either hand, saw the floor and dropped it from outside
Amaris Johnson (Stat Elite) 2029
Johnson has a huge upside because of her size, and what she’s doing at her age. She already has good timing to block, deflect and (or) alter shots, she can handle the ball in the open court after rebounding, she does that on both ends, but she also can attack the basket from the wing and finish strongly after contact. Oh yeah, she played the passing lane
