Paris Nixon-5’6 PG (Beaumont Westbrook) 2024
Nixon is a huge pickup for the team as her steadiness at setting the defender up has always impressed me. She scored off the dribble, she drops the mid to long-range and she evens outrebound taller players to score on putbacks, positioning, and desire play a part in that. Her court vision is also solid
Erica Hairston Erica Hairston 5'10" | SF Clear Creek | 2025 State TX -5’10 G/F (Clear Creek) 2025
Hairston is making a statement, well several statements as “SHE’S BACK” to a humid. She’s long and athletic, remember that is the base, and watching her explode off the floor for rebounds as well as over defenders to score had me smiling. She plays defense both in and outside the paint, she also plays the passing lane and handles the ball afterward but her jumper creates problems for defenders and she sees the floor
Monica Botley-5’5 CG (Silsbee) 2024
Botley is an athletic guard that uses her athleticism on both ends of the court, yes her defense was nice, at times smothering and creating turnovers but she attacks the basket strongly and her body control gave me a look at some acrobatic finishes. She handled the ball and saw the floor under pressure
Fiapaipaitufanuaitamalii Filoiali-5’8 G (Taylor)2024
Filoiali showed me she could shoot the ball playing on the PGH Circuit last season with another team and watching her extend her range was nice, and so was her mixing it up to attack from the wing. She also looked good with the “catch and shoot” while being defended
Alannah Nerocker-5’8 G (Hightower) 2024
Nerocker was one of the top defensive guards I saw on opening day at the Heart Of Texas and nothing has changed. Her “on the ball” defense helped create turnovers which led to points, her hands are quick, and she picked some pockets and scored as well as attacked the basket after
Shania James-5’9 F (Atascocita) 2024
James is long and athletic, she played solid defense, she has good timing to block shots, as well as rebound plus she understands the importance of playing the passing lane
Gianna Gentry-5’7 G (Shadow Creek) 2025
Gentry fills in many blanks and her scoring in the flow along with playing within herself are big assets. She defends, rebounds, and knocks down shots from the outside, and attacks the basket strongly to finish, after contact
Zakiya Umstead-5’7 G (Cristo Rey) 2024
Umstead plays high school ball for a guy I used to team up with back in the day and watching her anticipate the pass, aka “playing the passing lane” and score had me smiling. She also dropped the stop-and-pop jumper in transition
Zoiey Jumawan-5’7 G/F (Atascocita) 2024
Jumawan gets the #THROWBACK because I love players that play bigger than their listed height. She understands positioning and rebounded on both ends but she also scored on putbacks, against taller players. She also used her frame around the basket to score
