There were many talented teams on hand from Mid-Missouri, St. Louis, Kansas City and the SWMO area. Here are some new names that we bring to you from Saturday’s event.
Lyssa Sportsman Lyssa Sportsman 5'8" | SG Jefferson City | 2024 State MO (Jefferson City): A 5’8″ 2024 guard who has solid handles and the ability to score. She can create off the dribble very well and she gets into the lane to score at a variety of angles. She has a nice runner in the lane and a very effective pull up jumper off the glass. She is also a good playmaker with her passing ability.
******
Abbie Martin (Hannibal): A 2025 guard who has a nice shooting stroke from 3-point range. She also has a nice stop-and-pop jumper from the mid range area. She handles the ball well without being rushed and she also plays well off the ball with her constant movement.
******
Abbey Green Abbey Green 5'11" | PF Fair Grove | 2025 State MO (Fair Grove): A 5’11” 2025 forward who has some very effective moves in the post with her good footwork. She is also a very good slasher from the wing and she scored on some tough takes and she also displayed some finesse with a nice spin move in the lane for a bucket.
******
Isabelle Rohrbach (California): A 5’9″ 2024 forward who is an excellent all-purpose player. She does a lot of different things that help her team succeed. She has a lot of toughness and a high motor when she’s going after rebounds and loose balls. She is also a good secondary ball handler against pressure defense. She is a very important cog in the Pintos’ machine.
******
Effie Morris Effie Morris 5'7" | PG Boonville | 2026 State MO (Boonville): A 2026 point guard who has excellent speed and does well when she is pushing the tempo. She is excellent in the open court as she can get all the way to the basket or she can drop off a nice pass to an open teammate. She is very effective on the full court press with her speed and her ability to get deflections and steals.
******
Maddy Larkin (Helias): A 2025 guard who really does a nice job of moving at her own pace but she still gets to where she wants to go, which is into the lane. The young lefty is smooth, but she can change speeds to keep defenders off balance. She finishes very well with a nice runner or a flip shot in the lane.
******
Jillian Aholt (Father Tolton): A 2025 point guard who has good quickness and a nice shooting stroke from 3-point range. The young lefty can shoot it well off the catch and she also hit a pull-up triple in the game that I watched her. She also passes the ball well on the move.
