Mackenzie Amos Mackenzie Amos 5'8" | PG Wagner | 2024 State TX -5’8 SG (SA Finest 17U National) Wagner [2024]
Amos immediately has my attention with her “on the ball” pressure baseline to baseline and if her smothering defense wasn’t enough, her quicks hands sealed it as she came away with steals. As a bonus, she attacked the basket with either hand powerfully and finished after the lick but watching her not only create her shot and drop the mid to long-range jumper, her “catch and shoot” was more than solid
Noelani Ajel Noelani Ajel 5'5" | SG Steele | 2024 State TX -5’5 G (SA Finest 17U National) Steele [2024]
Ajel has taken a gigantic step forward in her ability to make those around her better. Yes, she sold me taking over games offensively a few years ago yet her confidence at running the 1 has skyrocketed, and controlling the tempo as well as directing traffic had me smiling. Don’t get twisted, she can still drop the mid to long-range with ease and her slight HEZ allows her to score off the dribble with either hand
Sedelia Wilson-Larkin-5’11 G/F (SA Finest National 17U) Cotulla [2025]
Wilson-Larkin looked familiar yet her growth spurt threw me off yet so did her game as she “overly impressed me” as she falls into that “long and athletic” category and with her starting off with the “hands and footwork” around the basket had me smiling as she scored on a variety of ways. She handled the ball in the open court, in fact, she went coast to coast several times to score but watching her score off the dribble in the set was also impressive. She showed the turnaround jumper, she dropped the mid to long-range and her court vision was also solid
Alina Hernandez-5’9 SG (SA Finest National 17U) Churchill [2025]
Hernandez saw the floor and threaded the needle a few times and when you can zip the ball between defenders after rebounding and handling the ball in transition, huge plus yet she didn’t stop adding because she used her athleticism on both ends. She attacked the basket strongly, and she dropped the mid to long-range but her “catch and shoot” under pressure was also nice
Makiya Sheppard-5’10 F (SA Finest 16U National) Roosevelt [2025]
Sheppard was powerful inside the paint and not only did she rebound on both ends of the court, her defense was solid both in and outside the paint. She’s strong and powerful, she finished around the rim as well as on putbacks but she also showed she could attack the basket and finish after contact
Breanna McMillan-5-4 PG (SA Finest 16U National) Steele [2025]
McMillan provided solid court vision both in the set and open court and handled the ball under pressure. She created her shot but she also help create for her teammates, setting them up for “gimmes”. She attacked the basket from a variety of angles, her deceptive first step played a part in that yet she finished strongly and her body control was nice
Samyra Witcher-5’3 SG (SA Finest 16U National) Steele [2025]
Witcher attacked the basket whenever she wanted, first step played a part as it was powerful, but so were her finishes, this includes after contact. She also showed solid body control but her handling the ball with either hand as well as seeing the floor gave her options because she also dropped it from outside, with a hand in her face
