Continue ReadingLeah Weaver Leah Weaver 5’11” | SG West Fork | 2025 State IA is a 5’9 wing that understands the game of basketball really well. She does a great job of sticking in front of her opponent on defense, scoring while in transition in the open court on offense, and holds her own in the physicality department near the basket. This July and winter Weaver is prepped for some big seasons with her perspective teams. She has been putting in hard work and it’s been paying off. Now she just needs to keep it consistent and we will see her rising in the rankings in the near future.
Highlights
Zoey Belt Zoey Belt 5’9″ | CG Indianola | 2025 State IA is versatile player when it comes to the game of basketball. Belt is a mix between a combo guard and small forward who uses her smarts to beat her opponents to the hoop. She has the ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the rim, she can catch with her back to the basket with the ability to finish over either shoulder, and she can make a fundamental pass when the defense over players her on the attack. I need to see Belt play a little bit more but from what I’ve seen thus far, she works hard and leaves it all on the court, and that’s all a coach can ask for in the long run.
Claire Lueken Claire Lueken 6’0″ | SF Wahlert Catholic | 2025 State IA is a force in the paint and she is also a new addition to the rankings in this update for the 2025 class. Lueken, a 6 foot center, is an all-around prospect that brings several things to the court for her teams. She has a physical demeanor near the hoop in attempts to protect the rim from opponents, she can finish over smaller defenders and over either shoulder consistently, she possesses good hand-eye coordination with the ball along with some soft touch, and she moves up and down the court with great pace. I am looking forward to seeing what Lueken does this winter for her Wahlert Catholic high school team. She has the ability to return this season and lead her team, once again, in several categories. Keep an eye out, she is sure to make her stamp on each game she competes in.
Consistent. Efficient. Reliable. These are all words that could describe Addie Kruse Addie Kruse 5’7″ | SG Waverly Shell-Rock | 2025 State IA ‘s game. An athlete that is quick and shifty, is always producing for her teams in one way or anther. She can work on or off of the ball while understanding what she is good at and what the defense is bad at. Each game you can depend on Kruse to score a hand-full of points, grab some steals from her opponent, and lead her team whenever see’s something that needs to be pointed out throughout the longevity of the contest. The next question for her will be if she can take that next step, from being a good player, to a great player. With dedication, she can make it happen.
Dasia Foster Dasia Foster 6’3″ | C Oskaloosa | 2025 State IA is showing more and more promise when I watch her compete. Foster, a 6’3 center out of Oskaloosa high school in Iowa, has been exceptional near the hoop when she catches with her back to the basket this spring. She is keeping the ball high on the catch, using her height to her advantage at all times, and is finishing through contact on almost every play. Not to mention that she has shown that she has a nice touch when she shoots a jump shot from 12 feet and in. Foster is a center that works hard, uses her size and physicality, and keeps expanding her game on the daily. I’m not sure where she will end up for her college career when it’s all said and done but whoever gets her, is getting a difference maker.
