Poised to take on a much larger scoring role next season. Wapato loses all state 1,000 plus point scorer K.K.Bass to graduation. This leaves the door open for a lot of points to be scored. She is a skilled player, with the offensive talent to make a huge jump. She is a good shooter, and her mid-range game is a weapon. She has a nice pull-up jumper and some beautiful floaters to go with her craftiness around the hoop. She had a great season this year. She is capable of being an elite floor general who can score.
Highlights
She was a tough match-up for anyone this season with her size and strength in the post. She has more than just size, she is a talented scorer on the block and capable of averaging a double double and then some. She rebounds, knows how to use the size advantage, and has good footwork. Gone to graduation are Marecia Barnett, Maya Barnett, Alina Sapilak, and do everything point guard Monique Carter. Big things to come next season along with 2024, Naomi Senato Naomi Senato 5’9″ | PG Emerald Ridge | 2024 State WA . They will make for a lethal Inside-out combo for Emerald Ridge next season. Both are capable of stepping up their game in a big way.
Emauni provides a rare combination of size and length. She is a good athlete who can help out in all phases of the game. She has the ability to be an elite defensive player. She has good lateral quickness with the ability to stay in front on the perimeter. She is a shot changer around the basket with the length. Her offensive game is still a little raw but there were flashes of bigger things to come. She has a nice touch from the free throw line, and she averaged 7 points per game this season scoring mostly around the rim. There will be big holes to fill with two players moving on to play at the Division 1 level – Nikole Thomas (Memphis) and Maddy Rendall (Idaho State).
