Today is National VCR Day, a day to remember the glory days of VHS tapes and “remember to rewind” signs. In honor of National VCR Day, I’m going to go over 5 players that college coaches will want to watch tape of ASAP.
Fraser is from the other side of the Mackinaw Bridge so it might be a little tougher for college coaches to catch her in person, but trust me when I say that they want to see her play. Fraser is a slick guard with a super quick release. She’s so dangerous off a catch and shoot, Fraser doesn’t need a prep dribble, instead catching the ball and firing it off before the defense really has a chance to challenge the shot.
If coaches haven’t heard her name yet, they’re going to want to check out some film for themselves. Lemus had a very nice sophomore season and could be in store for an even bigger junior campaign. She brings a ton of energy to the floor and her teammates often feed off of it. Lemus is a solid scorer and carries a really nice upside as a prospect and player.
Just finishing her freshman year of high school, Dottery has shown some great potential and there are some coaches that will want to see for themselves. She’s an athletic guard that can play on or off the ball. Dottery is creative on her way to the basket and bounce off contact. She seems to know when to play off 2 feet and when to off 1. Dottery is a solid 2 way player that isn’t afraid to body an opponent on D.
Highlights
Vert is a player to watch in her senior season. She has a lot of upside and some very transferable skills. Vert is a player that’s willing to do the dirty work to pick up a win. She’s very active on D and can always be counted on to provide quick help defense. Vert sees the ball well and anticipates the pass allowing her to force turnovers by stepping in the passing lanes. She has very deep range on her jumper as well.
VanAtter is definitely a player that some schools will want to check out some film on. She’s a physically strong downhill player that I think could continue that at the next level. VanAtter has a terrific straight line drive combining speed burst and power. She’s an excellent finisher with her right hand, holding the ability to go through contact and be unfazed by traffic in the lane. VanAtter often draws contact on the drive and gets to the line.
