Grace is a talented forward who vaulted all the way into the Top 5 in the Class of 2025. She is a fundamentally sound forward who can score on all levels and does the little things to help a team win games. Her outside shot from 3 is developing and if she gains consistency from there she could contend for the top spot in this class! She has a nice mid-range game and does a nice job finding soft spots in the defense to create a shot opportunity. Off the dribble she is an absolute force who can will herself to the basket and score whether there is traffic or not. She’s a physical finisher who doesn’t let the defense influence her shot. A stellar post-up game with patience and impressive footwork rounds out an overall excellent offensive game. On defense, she can block shots, steal passes, and get out in transition and run to convert turnovers into points.
Emery Thury Emery Thury 5'10" | SF Watertown | 2025 State SD – Watertown High School, Club Team – Sanford Sports Academy, 5’10” F
Emery climbed over 50 spots in our latest rankings, and deservedly so! She has one of the most complete games in this class and is developing into a next-level prospect for sure. At 5’10” she does an excellent job in the post and has a variety of moves with impressive footwork allowing her to score off of paint touches. A superb athlete she can attack off the dribble as well and is a great finisher at the rim. She does an excellent job running the floor and puts herself in efficient places to score in the primary offense. On defense, she uses her length and quickness to defend the perimeter and shut down opposing guards, and has the frame and physicality to lock down post players as well. An excellent rebounder on both ends Emery contributes at all levels of the game. A jump of over 50 spots, keep your eye on how high she moves by the summer’s end.
Addalyn Steffensen Addalyn Steffensen 5'8" | PG Arlington | 2025 State SD – Arlington High School, Club Team – Sanford Sports Academy, 5’6″ G
Addalyn is a high-level scorer who can hit the outside shot with ease and takes advantage of any ounce of space defenders give her. Pair this with an explosive attacking game to the basket and you have a nearly impossible-to-defend player for the Cardinals of Arlington. On defense, she can get after the basketball and can generate turnovers with her quick hands. A high level IQ she adjusts to the flow of the game well and can take care of it in the half court as well as control tempo to speed up the game with an aggressive mentality. A really talented Arlington team will feature the likes of Addalyn and her two sisters as well.
Jolyssa Steffensen Jolyssa Steffensen 5'6" | CG Arlington | 2025 State SD – Arlington High School, Club Team – Sanford Sports Academy, 5’7″ G
Jolyssa, like her sister above, is an intriguing prospect that has steadily climbed the rankings in the Class of 2025. She has a steady outside shooting game and can get her shot off with ease. She makes defenses pay for giving her space and when they close hard, she can put her head down and get to the rim quickly to finish on both sides. Her ball-handling skillset is solid and she is a low turnover guard who takes advantage of each possession. Defensively she gets after it and does a nice job positioning herself in the gap and help side, and is effective at contesting shots and keeping the ball in front. Keep your eye on the Steffensen sisters as an impressive duo in Class B SD Girls Basketball.
Brynn Vanbockern Brynn Vanbockern 5'6" | CG Harrisburg | 2025 State SD – Harrisburg High School, Club Team – Sanford Sports Academy, 5’6″ G
Brynn is a talented guard with a great combination of athleticism and fundamental skill. She has some of the most impressive range in the class and is lights out shooting off the catch in the half-court offense. She’s a dynamic guard who does a nice job keeping spacing and moving without the basketball to get an open shot, and also has a strong ball-handling sense if needed to bring the ball up the court against pressure. On defense, she gets after the ball and puts intense pressure on who she’s defending. You can catch Brynn continuing to develop her game for the Sanford Sports Academy this summer.
Thomiah Poor Bear Thomiah Poor Bear 5'11" | PF Rapid City Stevens | 2025 State SD – Kadoka High School, Club Team – Rapid City Gators, 5’11” F
Thomiah is a dynamic forward who gets it done in a variety of ways on both ends of the floor. She has a smooth release on her outside shot and can knock it down consistently from there. She can create shots off the drive for herself and others as well. Rounding out her offensive game is her ability to use her 5’11” frame to catch and score in the paint as well with great footwork and the ability to elevate over defenders. Reading the defense she shows great decision-making within the offense and knows when to get her own points off the drive or set up a shot for somebody else. She has all the makings of a stretch forward with solid handles and a nice jump, and the ability to be physical on the inside. On defense, she is active and uses her aggression and length to create turnovers and get stops. A fundamentally sound game and a competitive mindset solidify the stock rising on this young lady from Kadoka!
