Kamiera McDonald Kamiera McDonald 5'6" | PG Scotlandville | 2024 State LA – 5’6 Pg (Louisiana United) Scotlandville (’24)
I wish I was tech-savvy enough to put a video up here if I could I wouldn’t have to type a thing the film does not lie in Mcdonald’s case. Getting to see her up close in person in these first two eval periods McDonald has built a case for the state’s top long-range bomber. Consistency is key and consistency is what she is in four games at the Capital Cool Classic she went 11-14 from deep. A quick trigger and mean head fake and first step to go along with it frees her up for one-two dribble pull-ups!
Gracie Miller Gracie Miller 5'7" | CG Midland | 2024 State LA – 5’8 G (4U2NV) Midland (’24)
I know this is A “Floor Spacer” edition and yes Gracie fits the mold but she’s simply a HOOPER. I’ve watched her in the high school setting where she plays 1-5 and does so at a high level. But in the last couple of spring events I’ve seen her be nothing but a guard and in doing so she’s shown how good of a shooter she is! The long ball stroke comes easy as she’s a stronger guard with a nice build. She’s so strong she’s able to get her shot’s off, of the bounce as well. but when her feet are set and under her she’s automatic!
Payton Rowbatham Payton Rowbatham 5'5" | PG Northshore | 2026 State LA – 5’5 (La Soul) Northshore (’26)
She’s young with an unlimited range. She has step in the gym range at that. I’ve watched this kid go on runs of making 4/5 three balls in a row in all types of ways. To be such a young hooper she uses screens well and moves very well without the ball in her hands and once it touches her hands its going up! Again her range is unlimited! Going forward with added strength look for that stroke to become even more consistent!
Journee Johnson Journee Johnson 6'0" | CG Vandebilt Catholic | 2026 State LA – 6’0 (Louisiana United) Vanderbilt Catholic (’26)
It’s not fair to compare kids to future Hall Of Famers but in this case, I will, not saying she’ll be a future HOF but Johnson’s length and shooting stroke reminds me of one Kevin Durant! Therefore she’s been named the slim snipper! Journee when her feet are set is more than automatic from deep as I watched her consistently bang in the 3 ball at the May evaluation event in Birmingham. With her height and slender frame, she easily gets her shot off over smaller defenders, well really any type of defender from what I saw. Once she adds a consistent pull-up game to her package this kid will be hard to stop offensively, but until then if you need someone to stretch the floor Mrs. Johnson is one of the best at it!
