In this article we’ll discuss 5 of 10 freshman to sophomore athletes in a 2-part series that’ll have a bigger impact on their squads come this winter.
Starting off our list we have…
Aubree Jeanotte – St. John – Aubree is a 5’5 guard that’s played varsity ball since the eighth grade. She’s quick, dynamic and has an offensive arsenal that’ll light up the hoop like the 4th of July. She’s displayed suburb balance when attacking the rim and can stop and pop from anywhere beyond the arc. This past season she averaged 13.4 points, 2 assists, 3.7 rebounds and nearly 4 steals a game.
Rachel Neumiller Rachel Neumiller 5'7" | SF Harvey/Wells County | 2026 State ND – Harvey – Rachel is 5’9 Forward that can flat out put the ball in the hoop. In some ways she’s a stretch big being able to play down low and knock down the outside shot. This past year she averaged 12.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game. She shot 37% from the field and 31% from beyond the arc.
Elizabeth Fedje – Drayton – Elizabeth is a 5’11 Forward that’s played varsity since the eighth grade. She’s a traditional back to the basket big that can get open off back doors and missed steal opportunities. Fedje has a nice frame with plenty of room to grow. This past year she averaged 7.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game. She shot 33% from the field which hopefully goes up with some much-needed polishing around the rim.
Ryan Wertmann – Lisbon – Ryan is a 5’6 guard that got her real first opportunity on varsity this year having played J.V her eighth-grade season. Wertmann is a crafty guard that chooses great shots to take coming off screens or mearly being in the right place at the right time. This past season she averaged 4.9 points and 2.1 rebounds a game while shooting 38% from the field and 35% from beyond the arc. She’s this article dark horse to double her numbers next year.
Jacey Nelson – Drayton – Jacey is 5’1 guard that’s played varsity for 2 years now. Jacey has slowly earned more minutes due to her quick, agile play and defensive presence being a pest for guards to deal with. This past year she averaged a little over 2 points, 2 rebounds and 1 steal a game. She’s a player that isn’t going to hurt you on defense, but fills in as a passer on offense. I predict she plays a bigger role this coming season for the Titans
