In high school girls basketball, with a relatively small schedule, reaching marks like 500 career rebounds is significant, and there are quite a few players ready to reach that mark come next season. Here’s just a look at some of them.
Gamila Betton Gamila Betton 6'0" | C Ocean Township | 2024 State NJ – Ocean Township (2024)
One of a few impact players for Ocean Township, Betton has built upon her success season after season, reaching a number of career-highs as a junior with room to grow. She’s just 106 rebounds away from 500, a mark she should easily reach considering she recorded 150 rebounds or more in each of her past two seasons with the Spartans.
Katie Collins Katie Collins 6'2" | SF Manasquan | 2024 State NJ – Manasquan (2024)
Collins found a way to come into her own as a junior for ‘Squan, poised to put up double-double type numbers as a senior. With that will easily come a spot in the 500 rebound club, currently sitting at 333 in her career. Last season alone, she averaged 7.5 RPG in 25 games with a pair of double-doubles to her name. She’s going to be relied upon heavily in the frontcourt and should be ‘Squan’s main piece looking to control the boards.
Zionna Short Zionna Short 5'7" | SF Manchester Township | 2024 NJ – Manchester Township (2024)
Short just finished up her junior year at Manchester Township, and wow did she impress down low for the Hawks. Building upon previous defensive success, she hauled in nearly eight rebounds a game, while recording well over a block a game. She sits at 362 career rebounds, but should reach 500 quite easily considering her jump of more than 2.5 rebounds per game last season.
Caroline Polloway Caroline Polloway 6'2" | C Red Bank Regional | 2025 State NJ – Red Bank Regional (2025)
Our first 2025 prospect included in this article, Polloway has the most rebounds of any player we’ve mentioned so far, someone who should realistically break 500 career boards within her first 5-10 games of next season. She’s just 48 away to this point, impressing on both sides of the ball as a sophomore. She’s a blocks machine, and her rebounding is just as good, bordering on even better.
Savannah Butz Savannah Butz 6'0" | SF Colts Neck | 2024 State NJ – Colts Neck (2024)
The breakout year people had been looking for out of Butz, she delivered on as a junior, nearly averaging 10.0 PPG and 7.1 RPG with 1.7 BPG and nearly 1.5 SPG. Of course, we’ll be focusing on rebounds for this article, and a jump of roughly 1.8 rebounds a game last season is impressive. With 169 rebounds left to go for 500, she’s well on track to reach that mark as a senior.
Lindsay Rivera Lindsay Rivera C Keansburg | 2025 State NJ – Keansburg (2025)
We end this article talking about another rebounds machine who is well on her way to reaching 500 career boards within the first five games of next season. Rivera has averaged 11.1 rebounds a game through her first two seasons in high school, spanning 42 games. Alongside that, she’s coming off her first season with double-double averages in her career, recording 12 during the year. In as tough a conference as the Shore Conference is, she’s on a shortlist of elite post players
