2025
BreAunna Ward BreAunna Ward 5'10" | SF John Burroughs | 2025 State MO (John Burroughs): The 5’10 2025 guard was a defensive force in the Bombers win over Pattonville. She was shooting passing lane for deflections and steals and blocking shots inside and on the perimeter. She was excellent in the open court with transition layups. She has a great motor to go along with her speed and athleticism.
*****
Hannah Fenton Hannah Fenton 5'5" | PG Pattonville | 2025 State MO (Pattonville): The 5’5 point guard had an excellent game offensively against John Burroughs as she scored from all three levels. She was knocking down 3-pointers off the catch and also on the step back. She used her quickness and handles to create off the dribble very effectively.
*****
Aladyn Simmons (Lift for Life): The 5’9 forward was a big key to the Hawks victory over Cardinal Ritter with her tireless work inside against the Lions’ tall front line. She used her physical strength to get good positioning and she scored on some tough drives to the basket. She was also hitting the short jumper in the lane.
*****
Brooke Boyce (Pattonville): The 5’9 guard was very effective when she was getting downhill on the drive. She would get all the way to the basket or draw the defense for a kickout to an open shooter. She is also a solid defender and rebounder who plays the Swiss Army knife role very well.

2024
Monet Witherspoon (John Burroughs): The 5’8″ guard excels at all facets of the game and she has a big impact at both ends of the floor. She is always in the right position on defense and she will sit down and move her feet to keep ball handlers in front of her. On offense, she is just as effective without the ball in her hands as she is with the ball. She can hit the mid-range jumper and also knock down the 3-pointer. Her playmaking skills are excellent with her ball handling and passing. She also rebounds well from the guard position.
******
Hannah Wallace Hannah Wallace 6'0" | SF Cardinal Ritter | 2024 State MO (Cardinal Ritter): The 6’1″ 2024 guard was all over the place in the Lions’ game against host Lift for Life. Her defensive versatility is off the charts as she has the height to guard inside and the athleticism and length to cause disruption on the perimeter. She also did a good job of offense when she was attacking the basket and pulling up in the lane for the floater.
*****
Ai’Naya Williams Ai’Naya Williams 6'1" | C Cardinal Ritter | 2024 State MO (Cardinal Ritter): The 6’2″ forward was the most effective post player that I watched at both ends of the floor. She really works well in Ritter’s high low set, whether she’s making the pass from the high post or catching the ball down low for a bucket. She can wheel and deal inside in either direction. She is also very imposing on the defensive end with her length and shot blocking ability.
*****
Zoe Newland Zoe Newland 5'7" | CG Pattonville | 2024 State MO (Pattonville): The 5’8″ shooting guard was one of the most creative scoring threats that I watched during the evening’s games. She has good quickness and she can break down defenders off the dribble in a variety of ways. She can blow by defenders on the straight line or hit them with the hesi on her way to the basket. She has a good mid-range jumper off the bounce along with 3-point range.
*****
Paige Fowler Paige Fowler 5'9" | PF Lift for Life | 2024 State MO (Lift for Life): The 5’8″ forward is an undersized inside player who still produces because of her high motor and effort. She is a tremendous offensive rebounder as she outworks taller players with her quick jump off the floor and desire to get to the basketball first. She does a good job of getting out of her area. She is unbothered when she her shot blocked as she will get the rebound and go right back up with a strong second effort for the bucket.
*****
Dathy Botuna Dathy Botuna 6'3" | PF Cardinal Ritter | 2024 State MO (Cardinal Ritter): The 6’3″ forward has continued to make big improvements, especially on the offensive end where she is a dependable scorer when she gets the ball in the post. She catches the ball well inside and she can make a couple of nice moves to score, including a little hook shot over her left shoulder. Her footwork is good inside and she keeps the ball high after the catch.
