Our rankings update every three months. Prep Girls Hoops Florida scout Ross Van De Griek will be breaking down the top five players in each position for each class. This week we have our focus on the rising seniors.
The 5-9 shooting guard has displayed a great feel for the game on both ends of the floor. She runs the floor well in transition and can become a viable three-level scoring threat heading into her senior season. Kelley also defends exceptionally well when she is guarding on the ball as she does a great job containing her opponent forcing her into taking tough shots. On the offensive end she can produce some big scoring numbers as she averaged 16.1 points per game for Blanche Ely last season.
Highlights
The 5-8 rising senior guard showed a lot of promise last season she can play at the next level. Harrington is strong and effective on both ends of the floor where she can impact the game in a variety of ways. On the offensive end she can score off the bounce or in transition at a high rate. On the defensive end she uses her athleticism and footwork containing her opponents into taking difficult shots.
The 5-7 rising senior guard has shown a lot of growth and improvement heading into her senior season. De Pool can be dangerous when it comes to her shooting from beyond the arc where her recruiting process has started to take notice. De Pool has received offers from Cornell, Fordham, Georgia State, Iona, North Florida and several others. De Pool returns to a loaded Lake Highland Prep backcourt that features Jada Eads Jada Eads 5’6″ | PG Lake Highland Prep | 2024 State FL (Seton Hall commit), Briana Rivera Briana Rivera 5’7″ | CG Lake Highland Prep | 2024 State FL and Lexi Blue Lexi Blue 6’1″ | SF Lake Highland Prep | 2024 State FL (Virginia Tech commit).
The 5-10 rising senior guard and Davidson commit has a great feel for the game and bursted onto the recruiting scene following her sophomore season. She is dangerous in the catch and shoot game as well as scoring in transition. She is also very patient when she has the basketball in her hands where she won’t settle for a bad shot. Dauer can also be a viable threat to score on all three levels and is impacted to have a great senior season.
Highlights
The 5-9 shooting guard is not afraid to shoot the ball from anywhere on the floor. Atwater plays a big role for her high school team where she is coming off a junior season where she averaged a team-best 15.4 points per game. Atwater plays primarily the point guard position but is very selfless on the court where she gets her teammates involved often in the action. She is a dangerous threat from beyond the arc where she made 89 three-pointers for Weeki Wachee last season. Atwater is committed to play college basketball at Saint Leo University.
