Orlando was filled with talent in the back half of July, we take a look at some of the class of 2024 top forwards.
Zahariah Jones Zahariah Jones 6'0" | PF Oak Ridge | 2024 State FL ( FGB ‘ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”] Elite 17U Teal) 6’1 Forward – Class of 2024
Jones was a bright spot for FGB ‘ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”] Elite 17U Teal in Orlando, giving them athleticism and strength in the front court. At 6’1, she was an active rebounder and ran the floor well. She can finish inside vs traffic and can step outside to 15 feet. Her energy and activity level are major positives.
Ka’Zariah Johnson ( FGB ‘ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”] Elite 17U Teal) 6’1 Forward – Class of 2024
Johnson was another 6-foot plus post player for FGB ‘ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”] Elite 17U Teal. Johnson has a long wingspan and mainly affects the game with her rebounding ability and shot blocking. She has the ability to post up with her back to basket but likes to face up from the mid post and high post.
Taira Mabyre-Drouet ( Miami Suns South 17U Mompremier) 6’1 Forward – Class of 2024
At 6’1, Taira Mabyre-Drouet stood out for her activity. As I saw her play several games, she ran the floor hard, chased down loose balls and 50/50 balls, and runs the floor hard. Her energy and activity level are major positives for a front court player. She was much improved since the last time I saw her, which is great for her stock to be rising and is a sleeper in the class of 2024. Coach Boozer has done a great job with post player development at Miami Senior High School and it looks like Taira Mabyre-Drouet is continuing that tradition.
# Gianna Vindigni Gianna Vindigni 5'8" | CG St Brendan | 2024 State FL ( Miami Suns South 17U Mompremier) 5’11 Forward – Class of 2024
Vindigni was a new face for me. At 5’11, she is an intriguing player as an undersized post. She played bigger than her size down low in the paint as was not afraid to go about against players 2-3 inches taller than her.
Leigh Ann Hanley (ECU RIchardson 24)6’0 Forward – Class of 2024
Hanley has great size and a strong skill set for a 6’1 post. She was an impactful player for ECU Richardson 2024 on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. She played both inside and out, displaying her range that can extend out to the 3-point line. Her physical and aggressive play make her a potential double-double every game!
