Mariah Houston Mariah Houston 5'7" | CG Tom Glenn | 2024 State TX -5’3 CG (2024 Rock Nation ) 2024
Houston seemed like her range was from Houston at times yet I have become accustomed to seeing her not only shoot from distance but do it in the clutch, as well as in the flow. Her midrange game is solid, she creates her shot under pressure and her shot selection is also a plus because she doesn’t force anything other than the defender to commit. She also was one of the best stop-and-pop shooters in transition
Jayla Lawson Jayla Lawson 5'6" | PG John Marshall | 2024 OK -5’5 SG (Burner U OK) 2024
Lawson set it off last season with her NBA range and flick of the wrist but watching her do it again this season shows it wasn’t a mirage. I heard “Don’t let her get the ball” so many times from the stands that I just smiled because all she needed was a little spacing to let it go and what I liked even more was she did a good job putting it on the floor to keep the defender honest
Kendra Douglas-5’3 SG (SMA 2024) 2024
Douglas did a good job of not only creating her shot under pressure but wanting the ball in pressure situations and watching her drop it from multiple spots was nice yet so was her ability to “catch and shoot” it and drop it with accuracy, mid to long range. She did a good job of setting the defender up to attack the basket and her court vision was also a big plus as she mixed it up nicely
Aaliyah Rose-5’5 SG (SMA 2024) 2024
Rose simply ROSE to the occasion and used her athleticism well on both ends of the court. I was impressed initially with her defense as she did a good job “on the ball” baseline to baseline yet in the blink of an eye, she flipped the switch and showed she could not only shoot it from mid to long range, she also did a good job of showing the “catch and shoot” plus she has a nice step back to drop it
Amiya Taylor Amiya Taylor 5'8" | SF Conway | 2024 State AR -5’6 SG ( Arkansas Sting 17U) 2024
Taylor showed me a different view at the Super 64 after I realized where I had seen her before yet I was even more impressed with her poise under pressure this time around as well as her court vision and ballhandling. She has a slight HEZ to get the defender off balance, and her release is quick but her coming off the screen and dropping it was something I hadn’t seen as well as the pull-up jumper in transition
Brooklyn Woolsey-5’7 SG (Arkansas Fastdogs) 2025
Woolsey got the cover because, well she was hard to cover and was probably the best shooter I saw over the event. She’s heady and her decision-making played a part in her being able to help get her teammates going early which made it difficult for teams to double-team her. She shoots the ball with confidence, from wherever she wants, and the countless times I watched her drop the midrange, fadeaway included, was a treat
Delaney Price-5’8 G (2024 Texas Lonestar Crimson) 2025
Price was RIGHT in so many ways as she played the passing lane very well yet her handling the ball afterward and showing she could drain the long ball in transition was a nice touch, and so was her doing it from midrange. She dropped the jumper while being defended in the set, she also did a good job dropping it from deep with the “catch and shoot” with a hand in her face
Mattie Holmes-5’5 SG ( SETX Elite ) 2026
Holmes has shot the ball well all club season at whatever event I caught her yet it seems like her range has gotten deeper. She does a good job creating her shot, as well as scoring in the flow but her understanding of how to set the defender was important because she was able to get her shot off while being tightly guarded. Her scoring off the dribble helped yet that mid to long-range helped change the momentum several times
