Sophia McCartney Sophia McCartney 6'1" | C Neumann | 2024 State FL is taking her talents to Westpoint after announcing her commitment to Army this week. McCartney put up monster numbers last season, averaging nearly 20 points per game and 16.9 rebounds per game, both major statistics. Scoring: McCartney’s near 20 points per game ranked 13th in the 2024 class last season. Rebounds: The 16.9 rebounds per game ranked 19th in the country for all players (2nd for Juniors). In the State of Florida, McCartney ranked 1st amongst all players. We tip our hat to one of the top glass cleaners in the country.
Clare Coyle Clare Coyle 6'1" | PF Bishop Kenny | 2024 State FL was a force in the painted area. She has the ability to score inside, rebound, and make interior passes to her fellow bigs. Coyle plays with a lot of energy in the paint and everything she does is with force. She attacks the basket hard. Coyle avereaged nearly 11 points and slightly over 9 rebounds per game.
Kyana Poitier Kyana Poitier 5'11" | PF Palm Beach Gardens | 2024 State FL was a force last season, snagging nearly 16 rebounds on a nightly basis and pouring in nearly 12 points per contest as well. For the season, Poitier posted 19 double doubles in 25 games played. She also rejected 1.4 shots each game, further staking her control in the paint. She is a player who runs the floor, mixes it up on the inside, and can cover on the outside too. Poitier was a standout during the travel season and has earned at least one offer already. She is poised to dominate the paint her senior season.
Nia Blocton Nia Blocton 6'0" | PF Ridgeview | 2024 State FL was a workhorse last season playing in 30 games and recording a double double in 17 of them. Blocton averaged nearly 12 points per game and nearly 13 rebounds per game. Throw in 3.3 steals per game and 88 total blocks for the season and you can surmise that she is to be given “paint-worthy” praise. It doesn’t stop at the high school season. Blocton was an artist in the paint during travel season. She cleaned the glass, ran the floor, and dominated the paint with scoring, rebounding, and blocking shots. Her ability to handle the ball, have significant responsibility in press break and in the offense were special.
LeighAnn Hanley LeighAnn Hanley 6'1" | PF Carrollwood Day | 2024 State FL is another player who deserves some respect for her play in the paint. Hanley averaged 20 points per contest last year and dominated the painted area. She did connect on 2 three pointers for the year, but she hangs her coat inside. Hanley was impressive during the live period in Louisville and Orlando. Her ability to score on the inside was special.
