Brenna Martin Brenna Martin 6'1" | C Thompson | 2024 State ND – Thompson – 6’1 – Tough matchup for the defensive. Brenna plays physical, smart and her length can really be a detriment to the opposing team on both ends of the court. She’s a player that knows how to seal and fits perfectly within a motion offense. She can get up and down the court like a guard and is mobile enough to rip and take it at her opponent off the bounce. An overall tough defensive matchup and equally tough defender that doesn’t take lightly to getting bullied in the post. Her size proves to be a bit much for opponents and she can really light up the box score with those offensive rebounds.
Jadyn Frelich Jadyn Frelich 5'5" | PG Devils Lake | 2024 State ND – Devils Lake – 5’6 – Jadyn is a scrappy defender that can really dig into opposing guards with her aggressive demeanor. She’s quick, agile and has great lateral movement. On the opposite end of the court, she’s a firecracker and can really light up the box score if you let her go unchecked. She’s a strong shooter and can truly score at all 3 levels given her size. I suggest if you haven’t seen her play that you’re missing out on a deep range shooter that will surely impress you by her playstyle.
Addison Fredericksen Addison Fredericksen 6'1" | C Grafton | 2024 State ND – Grafton – 6’1 – Unsure what they put in the water over at Grafton, but every year it seems like they’ve got a 6 ft plus big that can move and play solid defense and Addison is no exception to that standard. A solid sized big that can really hurt defenses on the rebounding portion of the game. What’s most impressive about Addison would be her consistent inside presence and soft touch around the rim. She’s a mobile big that can get into help fairly quickly and athletic enough to get up and disrupt shot attempts.
Sydney Schwabe Sydney Schwabe 5'4" | PG Thompson | 2024 State ND – Thompson – 5’4 – Sydney is the most talented defender on this list. She’s aggressive, hungry, quick with both her hands and feet and has collegiate level lateral movement. For only 5’4 she can really burry herself into the offense and cut larger opponents off in a hurry. Aside from her defensive prowess she’s a solid shooter and is fearless at attacking the rim. She’s got good athleticism and finishing capabilities around the rim, but really excels at screen and roll scenarios making decisive decisions and is going to pair well yet again this year with teammate Brenna Martin Brenna Martin 6'1" | C Thompson | 2024 State ND .
Kacie Rexin – Carrington – 5’6 – Kacie is a newer featured athlete on our site. She’s got a solid basketball IQ and a will to win. She’s quick, got fast hands and athletic. She’s a trapping maestro and is able to quickly put pressure on guards and forwards a like in a full court 2-2-1 press that the Cardinals run or a tantalizing 2-3 pressure zone defensive system. Kacie has solid ball handling skills and isn’t afraid attacking the rim with a quick twitch first step. A player that you should keep an eye out for this coming season as she could provide the pressure the Cardinals need to advance in this tough Region 2 play.
