Like that other SC from the North Pole, I see EVERYTHING as far as who’s been working on their games and let me say this, if you aren’t working to get better, that’s a problem because someone is out there doing just that so remember to place yourselves in front of knowledgeable people, I’m talking about me, so here ya go
Jordan Erickson
Erickson is heady and stays under control, which speaks volumes yet she turned up the sound attacking the basket off the dribble with either hand. Her deceptive first step played a part in that and her body control was part of how she finished after contact but her court vision also stood out in the half-court, in the open court, and while she driving to the basket. Her defense was solid yet watching her do what I love to see, playing the passing lane, had me smiling
Julia Kern
Kern also understands the game and plays within herself meaning she does nothing out of the ordinary so her attacking the basket from multiple angles was solid, watching her drop the FLOATA effortlessly was more than solid because that will be hard to handle in high school. Her curt vision was also nice as she threaded the needle between defenders in transition plus she also did a good job defensively, “on the ball”
Rylie Patrick
Patrick is “long and athletic” which is the base and one of the profiles I love to evaluate but more importantly, so do college coaches and they offer next-level opportunities, and if that statement seems repetitive, that’s what I do. Here’s what she did, her “hands and footwork” got the #THROWBACK hashtag because it got her some easy looks in the paint. She also scored on putbacks, yes she rebounds on both ends. She does a good job attacking and finishing and she understands how to create her shot and drop the midrange
Gigi Reddinger
Reddinger adds something each time I see her play yet I’m more impressed at watching her doing things more fluidly on both ends of the court. She rebounded on both ends, she even handled the ball a little after grabbing it off the rim but she showed she could score off the dribble from the wing. Her lateral movement on defense has shot up, both in and outside the paint, and she’s showing she can face the basket and drop the short jumper
Sofia Bowie
Bowie gets the #THROWBACK hashtag for something that has become a lost art and that’s “following her shot”. I love simple things from another era because, in the grand scope, they become large. She has slight HEZ to get the defender leaning and watching her attack the basket strongly and finish after contact, using good body control to stay with, was impressive but so was her pull-up jumper, from mid to long-range
