Trevino was actively pushing the pace on the break, often seeking out driving lanes in those situations. The guard was active on help defense, ripping away the ball on drives and creating steals. She is effective around the rim on both ends, not fazed by potential contests or contact.
Madison Bethel Madison Bethel 5'5" | PG Northfield | 2027 State CO – Northfield
Bethel was impressive throughout this event, especially productive in transition. Her wide reach and long strides created plenty of scoring opportunities for the guard, getting out quicker than the majority of her opponents. Although among the most productive downhill scorers from the event, Bethel showed flashes as a pull-up shooter in the mid-range. Bright future ahead for the guard.
Angeline McCombs – Regis Jesuit
McCombs was another quick guard with an immediate burst on the first step. Her handle and quickness created plenty of driving lanes and scoring opportunities. Another strength of hers came on the glass, embracing contact while fighting for rebounding opportunities. She will be an impactful guard down the line, already showing value as a shotmaker in a variety of areas across the floor.
Nevaeh Stukas – Horizon
Stukas was excellent at the point of attack, possessing quick hips and willingness to get low in her defensive position. She was among the few backcourt defenders willing to pick up full court, displaying consistent energy matching up with her opponent.
Erissa Koenig – Skyview
Koenig did well filling space off the ball, either following a pass or if a teammate attacked downhill. She brought a selfless playstyle, consistent at making the extra passes to open teammates.
Jiana Chavez – Riverdale Ridge
Chavez was a willing passer, quick to make the play in advantage situations. Either in 2 on 1 or 3 on 2 breaks, the guard did well making the extra pass to an open teammate around the basket. Chavez brought value stretching out the floor, knocking down deep threes off the catch, stretching it out well beyond the three point line.
Jordan Lagasse – George Washington
LaGasse was a constant threat in transition, getting downhill with speed before the defense could recover. She brought consistent energy on the glass, grabbing quite a few offensive rebounds from relentless hustle plays. The guard embraced contact, not fazed an opposing rebounder.
Salem Sherman – Chaparral
Sherman proved to be a strong guard, among the most active shot blockers within this team. She was a brick wall for opponents, holding her own in the post while maintaining legal position on those contests. Her consistency switching screens added value to the defensive end, walling off the lane early.
Justiss Martinez Justiss Martinez 5'3" | SG MESA | 2027 CO – Mapleton Expeditionary School of the Arts
Martinez proved to be an active playmaker, getting downhill as her primary means putting pressure on the defense. One area the guard displayed was her counters from opposing reach-ins, gathering the ball high to avoid opposing steals.
Kate Fuessel Kate Fuessel 5'10" | SG Valor Christian | 2027 State CO – Valor Christian
Fuessel will be a dependable guard over the coming seasons, boasting refined footwork and a consistent offensive playstyle. Effective as a downhill scoring threat, she could utilize spin moves to create space for pivot finishes and short floaters. Her activity within the paint cannot go overlooked, willing to swat away shot attempts and fly around for offensive rebounds.
