The event was held on Saturday, Sept. 30 and featured some of the top middle school prospects in Southern California. I was able to attend the event and here’s a look at some of the top up and coming players I saw.
1.
Tatiana Griffin

Griffin is a player I saw play against Division 1 college players in the summer and she looked like she belonged on the court. The game just comes so natural to her. She’s a big wing with guard skills who is comfortable handling the ball. She can create her shot consistently. She can shoot from the midrange or she can attack the basket and finish through contact. Does a good job using her strength to finish. Very high upside.
2.
Rosie Oladokun

Oladokun is a mismatch of a player who can do multiple things on the court. She’s a natural wing with good size and length but she is a very good ball-handler. She can bring the ball up court and run the offense; I’ve seen her be trusted as a primary ball-handler. She’s a consistent shooter from three-point range off the catch and face-up. Impressive defensively using her length and mobility to cover ground. Good contests on jumpers.
3. Chloe Jenkins – 2029
Jenkins is another solid ball-handling wing. She did well handling the ball in the halfcourt and dribbling against defensive pressure. She was particularly strong at putting the ball on the floor and getting to the basket. Abel to draw contact and get herself to the free-throw line. Can pull-up and shoot off the dribble. Good on ball defender who slides feet well and covers ground.
4. Alanah Camacho – 2029
Camacho is a quick little point guard who had no trouble breaking down the defense and controlling the pace. Does a good job pushing the pace in transition. She sees the floor well, keeps her head up and is a good passer. Uses pass fakes in the halfcourt and consistently got into the paint. Can finish through bigger defenders at the basket. Able to shoot the pull-up jumper. Crafty ball-handler.

Liu was a tough, little guard. She does a good job protecting the ball as the ball-handler. Pushes the pace on the break and keeps her head up. She did well looking for her teammates; a pass-first guard. Has a nice shot off the catch; consistent from the three-point line.
