I really enjoyed watching the players that I don’t typically get to see throughout the season, as well as seeing improvements from the players that I do get to watch a lot. I got to watch the first three games on court 2 before finishing out the day on court 1. Unfortunately, I only got to watch majority of the teams play one time, but I’m glad I at least got to get a glimpse of everyone that was in attendance. Throughout the day, I took down notes on what I was seeing from each player at the event. Below you will see the notes I got from team 8 at the Top 250 Expo.
Sarah “Gabby” DeCamillis (#235)
Great defense led to a steal early on and really set the tone for what I saw from her all day long. Really plays hard 110% of the time she’s out there. Stays with plays and makes a lot happen on both ends of the floor. Moves feet so well defensively and can apply a lot of pressure. Handles the ball well and makes good passes. Smart decision maker. Can score inside or out, but very unselfish and creates very well for teammates.
Jaidan Koch (#240)
One of the highest impact players consistently throughout the day. Can score in a variety of ways. Made great cuts. Good left hand. Absolutely love how vocal she was. Played very hard. Really a difference maker on both ends of the court. One of the best defenders of the day. Can play any guard position effectively. Hadn’t gotten to watch her play before Saturday, but glad I finally got to see this special player.
NaTajia Alexander (#243)
Lefty who always seems to be an X factor no matter who she’s playing with or against. Makes great moves with the ball in her hands. Can finish inside or out and with both hands. Very shifty handles. Aggressive and fearless. Even when her shots aren’t falling, opponents have to respect her ability to score in a variety of ways. Also makes a big impact defensively and is able to come up with steals and blocks.
Kalani Baker Brock Kalani Baker Brock 5'7" | SF Louisville Male | 2024 State KY (#290)
Had some great blocks throughout the day. Was truly a difference maker defensively and consistently scored inside the paint offensively. Was finishing through contact and stayed strong with the ball. Ran the floor and scored well in transition as well.
Abigail Popham Abigail Popham 5'7" | SG LaFayette | 2025 State KY (#249)
Very solid player who can be relied on to do all of the little things. Has a good shot. Recognizes and moves to the gaps on the floor. Locates teammates and makes great passes. Can create and wasn’t forcing anything. Got into passing lanes defensively and didn’t give up anything easy. Strong fundamentals. Really just a well-rounded player overall.
Cly’Jah Carter (#293)
Consistently ran the floor well. Posted up strong and was holding off the defense down low. Had some strong finishes inside. Was the youngest player in the gym but she held her own against older competition.
London Sweeney London Sweeney 5'9" | PF duPont Manual | 2024 State KY (#304)
Her length and active hands are a big problem for opponents. Knocked down 3’s, made good drives to the basket, and scored in a variety of ways. Tended to be the glue player for her team, staying solid defensively and always involved in the action offensively. Got in on rebounds and had some good blocks. Contributes in many different ways and can fill up a stat sheet. Poised to have a big senior season at Manual.
