As was the cast in our last update on Thursday, we have four players to dicsuss, three who have received offers and one that announced her verbal college commitment.
Zeynep Ozel Zeynep Ozel 5'8" | SG Blair | 2024 State NJ – Blair (2024) offered by Bryant
It seems like every few weeks, Ozel, the talented senior guard from Blair Academy, has added a new offer to her growing list, and this time around, Bryant is the newest addition.
She’s done a fantastic job at turning herself into a well-rounded guard, a productive scorer, but someone who can haul in rebounds and can facilitate with the best of them. Ozel is equally a great shooter, with roughly half her scoring from her junior season coming from three-point land, so we expect that trend to continue into next season.
Janie Cross – West Deptford (2024) commits to Goldey-Beacom College
Cross is the lone college commit we will be discussing in this article, but what a massive moment it was to see the senior talent from West Deptford commit to Goldey-Beacom College to continue her basketball career.
A multi-sport athlete, shining brightest on the basketball court, Cross had her best high school season to date as a junior, averaging over 13 points a game while knocking down more than 50 three-pointers. Her agility and court vision have given her that extra edge to put herself over the edge in a lot of 1-on-1 matchups. It’s really impressive to have watched her grow as a player, and this is just the next step in what’s already become a prosperous basketball career.
Mia Washington Mia Washington 5'11" | PG Pope John | 2026 State NJ – Pope John (2026) offered by Binghamton
Washington has been one of a number of 2026 prospects in New Jersey to get looks and college consideration, and on Sept. 8, she added another Division I offer to the list in Binghamton.
The exposure has been there for quite a bit now playing for Empire State during her AAU career thus far, but she’s done plenty during the high school season already to make a name for herself. Playing alongside such talent as Addy Platt Addy Platt 5'11" | SG Pope John | 2026 State NJ , Washington has played well in her one season so far, averaging just under 7.0 PPG, along with roughly two rebounds, two assists and two steals a game. She’s a guard with immense talent and room to grow, and she should be a superstar in due time.
Siena Shuster Siena Shuster 5'11" | PF Wayne Hills | 2024 State NJ – Wayne Hills (2024) offered by Moravian, Montclair State, DeSales
The last player we will be discussing in this article is someone who’s gotten some big time love from women’s college basketball programs in recent weeks, earning offers from Moravian, Montclair State and DeSales, all since August 27.
She’s really been a jack of all trades for Wayne Hills, so calling her strictly a center or forward isn’t really indicative of the player she is. Her height and length lend more toward a frontcourt role, but she’s agile and mobile like a guard. Coming off double-double averages for the first time in high school, plus quite the impressive resume with Jersey Gemz in AAU ball, Shuster will be a monster this coming winter and high schools will dread playing her.
