So many fall into this category because of their sheer ability on the floor, their playmaking skillset, their leadership qualities and more. With Prep Girls Hoops New Jersey’s updated 2025 rankings out, now is the perfect time to analyze. Here are the top five update combo guards in the 2025 class.
No. 1: Mia Pauldo Mia Pauldo 5'7" | CG Morris Catholic | 2025 State NJ – Morris Catholic (No. 1 overall)
This is easily one of our most stacked rankings lists, and not surprisingly, Mia Pauldo Mia Pauldo 5'7" | CG Morris Catholic | 2025 State NJ , PGH NJ’s No. 1 prospect in the 2025 class, is atop our top combo guard rankings. She’s just an incredible player to watch, an incredible playmaker with so many intangibles that you just can’t fit it into one conversation. Pauldo is such a shifty player, a creative player, a leader among her teammates, someone who can shine when the lights are brightest and can perform under any pressure handed to her.
No. 2: Mya Pauldo Mya Pauldo 5'7" | CG Morris Catholic | 2025 State NJ – Morris Catholic (No. 2 overall)
Like her sister, Mya deserves plenty of praise and credit for the player she’s become over time. It’s crazy how much of a carbon copy one is from the other, playing with a high basketball IQ for a junior and someone who is college-ready already, probably someone who has been college ready since the beginning of her sophomore high school season, if not sooner. Mya has some more room to work with up top and is destined for a spectacular junior year.
No. 3: Daniella Matus Daniella Matus 5'10" | CG St. John Vianney | 2025 State NJ – St. John Vianney (No. 3 overall)
It’s wild how the top three players in New Jersey’s 2025 rankings all fit under the combo guard category as we head to the newest centerpiece for St. John Vianney, Daniella Matus Daniella Matus 5'10" | CG St. John Vianney | 2025 State NJ . As Pauldo will benefit from Matus’s transfer, Matus will benefit from being part of a new team, the best team in New Jersey in recent years, and she’ll immediately be running the show. Matus has everything you look for and want in a guard, and with her at SJV, the Lancers will be an incredibly tough team to take down this winter and spring.
No. 4: Kennedy Henry Kennedy Henry 6'1" | CG Blair | 2025 State NJ – Blair (No. 6 overall)
Henry is the fourth player in our current updated Class of 2025 rankings for New Jersey to be in the top 10, the final combo guard in the top 10, but she’s a must-watch talent with great success in a number of different facets of her game. She’s just as good a defensive player as she is an offensive player, but that jump in three-point production as a sophomore really made the difference in her taking the next step in her game to an elite shooter, something she might even raise to another bar next season.
No. 5: Macie McCracken Macie McCracken 5'8" | CG Wildwood | 2025 State NJ – Wildwood (No. 12 overall)
Our last player to discuss in this article is our highest-ranked South Jersey prospect in the updated 2025 rankings, the leader of a tough Wildwood team and a prolific scorer. McCracken is probably best known for her perimeter shooting…and for good reason because very few have been as prolific as her in two high school seasons. She’s nearly hit three a game in 57 games played, plus easily averaging 20 points a game and 4.4 steals a game as a sophomore. McCracken is the top South Jersey talent for a reason.
